A multiport passive photonic light circuit chip has multiple waveguides written in at least two layers on a glass substrate. Some waveguides connect transmitting and receiving ports of an optical channel, some waveguides redirect a fraction of optical signals to some other receiving ports, and waveguides have circular cross-sectional shapes wherein a refractive index contrast is in the range of 0.2% to 2%.

The present invention provides modular trays having cutout features that are configured to engage with a mounting feature of one or more removable rails. The removable rails may be removably secured to a tray body in a plurality of positions to allow a user to install or uninstall rails to support different sized fiber optic modules. For example, a tray may support a twenty-four optical fiber module, two twelve optical fiber modules, or three eight optical fiber modules. Fiber optic enclosures housing the trays can be affixed to the outside of a fiber optic enclosure and allow for easy stacking and unstacking.

A cassette module has three 16 fiber MPOs and four 12 fiber MPOs wherein each 16 fiber MPO has 4 fiber receiving areas with four fibers going to each fiber receiving area and each 12 fiber MPO has 3 fiber receiving areas with four fibers going to each fiber receiving area. Fibers are routed from certain areas of the 16 fiber MPOs to those of the 12 fiber MPOs in order to convert a base 12 communication system to a base 16 communication system.

A channel equalization enclosure equalizes the length of cable variance with customers' equipment in a data center. The channel equalization modules serve as a connection point between cable from a financial institution and patch cords connected to customer equipment. The channel equalization enclosure includes a housing and a plurality of channel equalization modules mounted in the housing. Each channel equalization module has a spool of bulk fiber for accommodating a specified fiber length to equalize a communication channel in the data center.

In an embodiment, the present invention is an apparatus for evaluating the integrity of a mechanical splice joint comprising a light source, a circulator, a photo detector, and an analysis circuit, wherein the apparatus connects to a test connector and evaluates signals representative of light pulses passing through at least a portion of the test connector.

Optical fiber mechanical splice termination and test apparatus and methods

An optical-fiber connection apparatus and method for connection of an optical-fiber cable having a plurality of optical fibers to a transmit/receive unit having a plurality of interface transceivers. Some embodiments include a housing having a base portion and a latch actuator, an optical-fiber cable connection that holds the optical-fiber cable to the housing, a plurality of optical-fiber termination interfaces coupled to the housing, and a lever mechanism that is coupled to the base portion and to the latch actuator, and that moves the latch actuator relative to the base portion, wherein the lever mechanism operates to latch the optical-fiber connection apparatus to the transmit/receive unit such that the plurality of the optical-fiber termination interfaces couples light signals between the plurality of optical fibers and the plurality of interface transceivers of the transmit/receive unit.

Apparatus and method for ganged multiple optical fiber connector

A loan repayment system and method comprises a loan account for a purchased item, and a personal fund account used to manage discretionary money. A user deposits discretionary money periodically into the fund account. Typically, the fund account has a starting balance of at least one full cycle's worth of such deposits. Additional principal payments, leveraged from the fund account to front-load against the loan account, are used to exponentially counter the total interest. As the method recycles with each full cycle, the loan account balance is reduced faster.

A plug locking assembly comprises at least one plug holder comprising opposing top and bottom arms, said top and bottom arms extending tranversely from a wall and defining open spaces therebetween, said open spaces for receiving and holding plugs. The plug holders are typically positioned adjacently to one another or in tandem and the configuration of the opposing top and bottom arms allows for side installation of plugs. The plug locking assembly may further comprise a cover overlying the plug holders.
