The invention relates to an improved bracket for use in fixed dental appliances for the orthodontic movement of teeth. An orthodontic bracket in accordance with the invention comprises a fixed member for attachment to the labial surface of the tooth and a member which is freely rotatable about a stub axle formed in the fixed member, the rotatable member being provided on its labial surface with a first channel in which archwire may be seated, means being provided to lock the rotatable and fixed members together at a predetermined angular position. Such a bracket allows free tipping of the teeth in the early stages of treatment and allows torque to be applie for fine control of the root apices in the latter stages of treatment.

Orthodontic bracket

An adhesion pad assembly for tracked vehicles includes a resilient adhesion pad having a ground engageable face, the pad being laterally confined by an encasement having side walls of a material having greater tear strength and less abrasion resistance than the material of the pad. The encasement provides protection to the pad from tearing by stones as well as reducing deformation heating.

Track link adhesion pad assembly

A track link is provided with a slideway (13) in which a steel or nylon load bearing shell (18) bonded to a rubber road engagement pad (17) can be speedily engaged. The load bearing shell has a bowed cross-sectional configuration which extends laterally in the slideway to increase retention when subjected to centrifugal forces tending to tear the pad away from the link.
