An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is provided in which the scanhead connectors are elevated and tilted upward. This is provided by a tilted card cage with a backplane mount for the scanhead connectors which extends above the top of the card cage. The elevated and tilted scanhead connectors provide a comfortable position and orientation for the system operator when inserting and removing probe connectors, and the elevated position keeps the probe cables well above the floor and entanglement with the wheels.

The invention is a device which attaches to the nose and filters the air a person breathes through the nostrils of the nose. The filter element of the device covers the nostrils and base of the nose. Thus, the remainder of the face is uncovered. The device includes the filter element and an adhesive strip which includes two substantially triangular portions designed to adhere to the sides of the nose and hold the filter in place. The adhesive strip is such that it securely holds the filter over the nostrils when the adhesive strip is properly placed on the sides of the nose. The filter element can be constructed of various materials. For example, cotton, wool, polyester, or carbon. The filter element can include specially designed inserts which are dome shaped or ellipsoidal shaped and which fit in or against the nostrils. The filter element can filter out unwanted gases, solid particles, and/or other matter.

Nose worn air filter

The invention is a glove-like device which shields the back of the hands from the rays of sunlight. It fits over the back of the hand like a glove, but leaves the palm and sides of the hand and the sides of the fingers and thumb essentially uncovered so heat from the hand can easily escape and the hand can be cooler. Unlike ordinary gloves which would be too uncomfortable to be worn in warm or hot surroundings because they retain the heat coming from the hands, the invention provides ventilation for the hands and allows them to stay cool while the device is being worn in the hot summer sun, or in warm surroundings, such as the inside of an air conditioned automobile, where one would not want to wear ordinary gloves to shield the sunlight off the hands. The sun-shielding device is held on the hand by portions which slip over the ends of the fingers and the thumb, strips of material which go around the fingers and thumb, one or more strips which go across the palm of the hand, and an adjustable band which goes around the wrist. The shield portion over the back of the hand can be made of various materials which block the passage of rays of sunlight. The portion that wraps around the palm side to hold the device on the hand can be made of various materials which will hold the shield portion in place while allowing heat to escape freely from around the palm side of the hand. The device also allows heat to escape from under the shield as the hand is flexed during normal movement or grasping.

Sun-shielding ventilated glove

The shirt-like device disclosed shields the neck, shoulders, back, waist, and arms from rays of sunlight or radiation from the sun which may be harmful and provides for ventilation which makes the shirt-like device more comfortable to wear than an ordinary shirt in situations where it is hot and people ordinarily take off their shirts to be comfortable. The device protects those parts of the body that are likely to receive too much exposure to this radiation when people perform certain activities outdoors for long periods of time. The device fits over the upper body of a person. The sun-shielding part blocks, reflects, and/or impedes the rays of sunlight or radiation and covers those parts of the neck, shoulders, back, waist, and arms which receive the most exposure to sunlight when a person is engaged in activities which cause them to lean slightly forward or have their upper body horizontal. The sun-shielding portion is connected to a ventilated portion to form a complete shirt. The ventilated portion is designed to provide ventilation for the part of the body not covered by the sun-shield. The ventilated portion can be a system of bands, strings, strips, fish net material, or some other system for providing significant ventilation to the parts of the upper body not covered by the sun-shield.
