A method, system, and program product for generating a price quote to demanufacture a lot of electronic equipment is disclosed. Representative equipment groups are defined which include default values, based upon knowledge and experience, and study values, based upon dismantle studies. When a quote is requested to demanufacture a given lot of equipment, the equipment in the lot is categorized into representative equipment groups. As profit/loss is calculated for each equipment group, if study values are available, these are used, otherwise default values are used. Pricing contingency and profit may further be calculated to generate the price quote.

Method, system and program product for generating a demanufacturing price quote

Demanufacturing workload is forecast based on anticipated volumes of equipment to be disassembled and/or salvaged, as well as equipment complexity factors determined by disassembly prototyping. Staffing requirements are unique for each customer and are based on the number of pounds needed to be worked during each month and the associated complexity (work content multiplier) for that customer's typical or expected returns.

System and method for forecasting demanufacturing requirements

Obsolete and unwanted computer and other products are demanufactured according to a method of recovering the largest revenue. An optimum level of disassembly and parts removal is determined based on strategies involving outright sale, sale of parts, disassembly costs, and commodity recovery. Critical parts are identified and regulatory requirements are included.

Method of demanufacturing a product

Items for sale are listed on a first spreadsheet. A digital picture of an item taken by a video camera and imported to the first spreadsheet. Bids for the items are solicited from potential buyers by sending out the first spreadsheet using e mail. Buyers indicate bid amounts and quantities and return the spreadsheets. Returned spreadsheets are combined into a second spreadsheet. An optimization algorithm is executed to determine winning bids. Award sheets for each bidder are generated and sent to the bidders. A trend analysis determines which items meet a criteria for further investment.
