A closed-loop cooling system is internal to the enclosure of an induction drive system. Two inverter modules of the induction drive system each includes three insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules for producing an AC output from a DC source, the AC output received by an induction coil for heating a metal.

High power switching devices for inductive heating applications

A power inverter comprises a plurality of high power switching modules that form an alternating current (AC) output; a plurality of terminals in communication with the high power switching modules for outputting the AC output; a capacitor bank that provides a conditioned voltage to the high power switching modules for producing the AC output in response to receiving and storing electrical energy related to a direct current (DC) supply; and a case positioned over the high power switching modules. The capacitor bank is mounted to the case, and the capacitor bank is positioned over the high power switching modules so that the high power switching terminals are proximal the capacitor bank for reducing inductance. A gate driver module at a top region of the high power switching modules includes a plurality of planar transformers for reducing a distance between the capacitor bank and the gate driver.

Power converter

A subsea vertical glider robot which supports deployment in subsea oilfield activities is disclosed. This vertical glider robot can also be used in oceanographic research exploration. One application of this vertical glider robot is the autonomous delivery of equipment and sensor systems to a precise predetermined location on the sea floor. The vertical glider robot is deployed from a surface ship or any other suitable sea surface platform and allowed to free fall to the bottom of the ocean. The traversal through the body of water is performed primarily by converting initial potential energy of the apparatus into kinetic energy, it does not use propellers. The traversing of the seafloor is controlled with a steering module that refines orientation while processing information about the vertical glider robot's current position and the target where it has to land.

Vertical glider robot

An artificial intraocular lens device which utilizes a distendable, resilient superior loop and affixure to form a lobular positioning structure for implantation. The lens includes a superior haptic rim and large superior loop that may be secured to the haptic rim to provide spring-like lobes. In addition, various configurations of inferior loop and/or inferior haptics may be utilized in combination to provide a pseudophakia for implantation in the anterior chamber, transiridial position, or posterior chamber.
