The disclosed motor control device is responsive to control pulses received from a remote transmitter to provide switched duty cycle controlled power to the electric motor which drives the model, and provides neutral and fully proportional forward and reverse speeds while using only a single radio frequency channel. The controller is small in size and weight, is efficient, dissipates very little power, and employs no servo driven elements. The circuit is constructed to ensure motor shut-down in the event of loss of transmitter signal, or of receiver failure.

An electronic circuit triggered by pulses derived from the rhythm pattern generator of an electronic organ simulates the sound of a group of people clapping hands by producing in bursts at least two different sound signals of differing characteristics and combining the signal bursts in a predetermined pattern which causes them to occur in close time proximity to each other but not at the same time. When the combined signal is acoustically reproduced, the resulting sound is simulative of that produced by a group of people clapping their hands in unison.

A device for electronically simulating vibrato and tremulant effects and the radiation effects produced by a rotary loudspeaker with the aid of two loudspeakers, in which a musical tone signal is applied to a variable delay device associated with one of the loudspeakers. The frequency modulated signal produced by the variable delay device is also subjected to amplitude modulation, controlled in synchronism with the variable delay device, and the resulting composite signal applied to the other loudspeaker. Additionally, the high frequency components of the frequency modulated signal from the variable delay device are summed, in and out of phase relationship, with the composite amplitude modulated signal to simulate the effect of a rotating high frequency horn radiator.

A one key chording system for an electronic organ of the type in which single contact keyswitches for D.C. keying of tone signals are employed. The keyswitches of a first group are connected to a common bus to which is also connected a mode select circuit for selectively applying thereto a D.C. potential of either positive or negative polarity. In the disclosed embodiment, when a negative potential is applied to the common bus a signal from an actuated keyswitch in said first group operates one of a plurality of chord logic circuits to produce a plurality of auxiliary keying signals which operate tone signal keyers for tone signals corresponding to a musical chord. An alpha-numeric display disposed adjacent to the keyboard indicates the name of the chord being played by the one key chording system. When the mode select circuit is operated to apply a positive potential to the common bus, the chord logic circuits are rendered inoperative and the instrument is returned to normal operation with multiple key chording.

One key chording system for electronic keyboard instrument

An automatic rhythm system for an electronic organ adapted to enable a plurality of percussive instruments and a plurality of accompaniment and 'Walking Bass' instruments normally played by the pedals of the organ includes two separate rhythm pattern generators each storing a plurality of rhythm patterns, the outputs from one of which enables selected percussive instruments and the outputs from the other enabling little used percussive instruments and the 'Walking Bass' normally played by the pedals. A plurality of rhythm select switches are directly connected to respective input terminals of the first rhythm pattern generator, and to ensure against generation of musically unacceptable combinations of rhythm patterns when a combination of rhythm patterns is selected, the rhythm select switches are connected through control logic to the second rhythm pattern generator, the control causing the second rhythm pattern generator to play only the first turned on rhythm pattern of a combination of patterns. That is, the sequence in which the rhythm patterns of a combination are turned on determines which singular pedal pattern will play with that combination of rhythm patterns.

Rhythm system for electronic organ

For generating tones in an electronic musical instrument, there are provided multiple master frequency sources, a different source for each octave, differing in frequency from each other by a factor which differs from two by at least one semitone, each of which is coupled to a respective frequency synthesizer all of which have the same dividing ratios, to divide down the frequency of its master frequency source to pitches of the twelve notes in the intended octave. In one embodiment the sources are separate master clock pulse sources, and in another embodiment a pulse train derived from a single clock pulse source is applied to the frequency synthesizer for the highest octave, and the pulse train applied to each of the other synthesizers is derived from the pulse train supplied to the frequency synthesizer for the next highest octave by dividing the pulse repetition frequency thereof by a factor which differs from two by one or more semitones. The result is that temperament errors are randomized by placing them at different interval locations in each octave, and corresponding musical tones of successive octaves are not locked in phase relationship but have frequencies which differ slightly from pure harmonics, so as to present a pleasant chorus effect when such tones are reproduced simultaneously.

For reiteration of percussive sounds in an electronic organ there is provided a circuit for generating pulse signals for reiteration control which are 'on' for much longer periods than they are 'off', thereby substantially reducing the chance of an organ key being actuated when the control signal is in its 'off' condition. The circuit is so arranged that playing of an additional key at a time when one or more other keys are being held has no effect on the reiteration of the sound produced by the held keys. The circuit generates four control signals which are connected such that each controls three notes in a given octave on the keyboard, a different three in successive octaves, such that when normal intervals (e.g., thirds, fourths and fifths) are played, the effect of random reiteration control is produced.

Circuit for reiterating percussive sounds in electronic musical

In an electronic musical instrument, such as an electronic organ, the speech characteristics of Vox Humana and similar reed organ pipes are simulated by applying a repeating series of pulse groups separated from each other, which groups each contain a short sequence of two or more pulses, to a sharp cutoff low-pass filter for converting the series of pulse groups into a sound producing signal simulative of the sound signal produced by a Vox Humana or similar organ pipe. The repeating series of pulse groups is obtained by nonlinearly combining square wave tone signals from two or more different octaves of a conventional phase-locked tone generator. The synthesized repeating series of pulse groups, one series for each note of the instrument, are applied to a single low-pass filter, or grouped and applied to a small number of filters.
