A device and method for registering devices on advanced networks as well as providing operative communications between a legacy device and a advanced network. The legacy device may contain data, such as sensor data, which is being collected on a network outside the communication range/abilities of the legacy device. An intermediary device may receive the data via a first communication scheme and send the device to a server collecting the data via a second communication scheme.

Embodiments contemplate TDD systems and techniques where timeslots may be allocated as DL, UL, or FDSC; the base station (BS) may be full duplex singled channel (FDSC) capable; and some, all, or none of the UEs (or WTRUs) may be FDSC capable. In one or more embodiments, FDSC1 timeslots may be contemplated that may be used (in some embodiments perhaps exclusively used) by a pair of radios, for example one BS and one UE, both having FD capability. In one or more embodiments, FDSC timeslots may be shared among a BS with FDSC capability and two or more UEs, that may be half duplex (HD). Embodiments also contemplate various FDD systems and techniques, including full duplex FDD systems and techniques.

Full duplex single channel communications

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for managing real-time traffic video flows. A node may comprise a processor configured to receive a first real-time video traffic flow. A state variable may be associated with the first real-time video traffic flow at the node and a state variable may be associated with the second real-time video traffic flow at the node. The first real-time video traffic flow may comprises plurality of packets and each packet may comprise a lost packet indicator. The node may be configured to drop a first packet in the first real-time video traffic flow, update the state variable associated with the first real-time video traffic flow at the node to indicate the dropped packet, and update the lost packet indicator for a second packet in the first real-time video traffic flow based on the dropped packet.

Quality of experience based queue management for routers for real-time video applications

A scan range of a steerable antenna is extended using a reflecting surface or surfaces within the scan range. Various implementations may also include lenses, and the reflecting surface, lenses, or both may include meta-materials. The antenna may be steered to interact with the reflecting surface, lenses, or both to reflect the beam in a direction not possible using the antenna alone. The scan range may be extended in azimuth, elevation, or both, and beam pattern, and antenna freespace impedance may be controlled.

A user may point a control device at a controllable device for which control is desired, and the control device may detect the targeted controllable device. Additionally, the control device may detect a plurality of wireless nodes and list the available wireless nodes. For example, the control device may identify wireless nodes associated with a room in the house, or the control device may detect the wireless nodes within a certain range. The list may be a selectable list and a user may select the desired device to control from the list. Upon detection or user selection, the control device may establish control of the wireless node and initiate actions associated with the selected device.

Addressing wireless nodes

A method and apparatus for a wireless receiver are described herein. A user equipment (UE) may process control information in a first time slot of a transmission time interval (TTI) having a plurality of time slots. The UE may, in response to the control information including valid resource assignment information for the UE, receive data in the first time slot and another time slot of the TTI. The UE may, in response to the control information not including valid resource assignment information for the UE, discontinue reception in the TTI. The UE may discontinue reception for another time slot of the TTI. The circuitry may be further configured to receive a transmission indicating that a base station will discontinuously transmit to the UE. The control information may be processed prior to processing any of the data symbols of the TTI.

A method and apparatus for scheduling transmissions via an enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) are disclosed. A scheduled power is calculated for scheduled data flows. A remaining transmit power is calculated for the E-DCH transmission. A rate request message is generated, wherein the scheduled power, remaining transmit power and rate request message are used to select transport format combinations (TFCs) and multiplex data scheduled for the E-DCH transmission. The remaining transmit power is calculated by subtracting from a maximum allowed power the power of a dedicated physical data channel (DPDCH), a dedicated physical control channel (DPCCH), a high speed dedicated physical control channel (HS-DPCCH), an enhanced uplink dedicated physical control channel (E-DPCCH) and a power margin.

A method and apparatus determines a physical location of a wireless infrastructure device. At least one coarse location data from an associated terminal device is determined. Additional coarse location data are stored and accumulated. The device location is considered accurate by determining that enough received coarse location data has been received.

Methods, systems and apparatuses for dynamic spectrum access by both primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for communicating over a channel may include obtaining, at a secondary transmitter, first and second signals intended for a primary receiver and secondary receivers, respectively; generating, at the secondary transmitter, an assist signal based, at least in part, on the obtained first signal; generating, at the secondary transmitter, a data signal based, at least in part, on the obtained second signal; determining, at the secondary transmitter, a power split ratio between the data signal and the assist signal based, at least in part, on any of a power and a signal-to-noise ratio of the first signal; and generating, at the secondary transmitter, a third signal comprising (i) the data signal and (ii) the assist signal in accordance with power split ratio.
