Lighting unit that can be mounted to a vehicle for illuminating work or emergency areas at night. The lighting unit includes a mechanically controllable driver for selecting a position of a central optical axis of the light emitter and an electronically adjustable refractive element for modulating a beam spread configuration generated by the lighting unit.

Lighting unit

Light bars, and lighting systems and vehicles that include light bars. The light bars include a plurality of light emitting modules coupled together at flexible joints to allow a single light bar to be affixed to surfaces of varying curvatures, such as an interior window surface of a vehicle. The size of the light bar is easily customizable due to its modular nature. In some examples, a controller or other electronic element is adapted to detect a number and/or configuration of modules in a given light bar.

An example warning device can include: a plurality of light sources forming an array; a plurality of reflectors, with at least one reflector being associated with each of the plurality of lights; at least one lens for each of the plurality of lights; and an optical prism plate that directs light from one or more of the plurality of lights to one of a plurality of far field light spots.

Lighting systems, devices, and units that provide illumination according to a detected orientation relative to a reference plane or a reference vector. In some examples, a light bar for use on a vehicle includes first and second sets of light emitters that are selectively activated and inactive based on a detected orientation of the light bar relative to a reference plane or reference vector.

A warning light assembly, components therefor and methods of assembly and use are described. The warning light assembly includes a moveable reflector light pod arrangement comprising at least one moveable reflector light pod having a selectively moveable reflector arrangement and a plurality of LED units configured and oriented to direct light against a selectively moveable reflector arrangement. A signaling system for mounting to an exterior surface of an emergency vehicle is provided. The signaling system includes a light bar and a pair of mounting feet. The light bar can include a plurality of signaling devices supported on and distributed along a base member and enclosed by a cover. The light bar can be secured to the mounting feet via a plurality of fasteners. The mounting feet can be connected to the emergency vehicle via roof straps. Each mounting foot can include a base, which can have a support portion, a contoured portion, and a pair of compartments; a pair of seals associated with each compartment; a pair of covers, which can be translucent, removably mounted to the base to enclose the compartments; and a roof strap secured to the base. Each compartment can house a signaling device, such as a lamp assembly.

The present disclosure provides a lighting device that includes an array of LEDs arranged on a circuit board with a reflector that rotates relative to the LEDs to reflect the light in various directions. The reflector according to the present disclosure includes a compact construction that allows for effective light reflection. A related lighting system and method is also provided.

A light assembly is disclosed which can include an LED array and a reflector. The LED array can include a plurality of LEDs which are disposed such that each LED is substantially aligned to define a focal axis. Each LED can emit light substantially along an optical output axis, with each optical output axis being perpendicular to the focal axis. The optical output axis of the LED array can be disposed in intersecting relationship with the reflector surface. The reflector can be defined by a curve section defined with respect to a principal axis. The principal axis and the output axis of the LED array can be in non-parallel relationship with each other. The optical output axis of the LED array can be substantially perpendicular to the principal axis of the curve section of the reflector.

A warning light and warning light assembly are disclosed. The warning light includes a housing including a base and a translucent cover. The warning light includes one or more light emitting diodes within the housing, each of the light emitting diodes operable to emit light substantially along an optical output axis. The warning light also includes a reflector within the housing, the reflector including a reflective surface having a curve section disposed substantially perpendicular to the optical output axis of at least one of the one or more light emitting diodes.

An apparatus for releasably holding a media storage disk that may include a front and base cover connected in a hinged relationship. A base panel of the base cover may include a centrally located hub disposed on a pair of support arms that may be moved between a relaxed position and a flexed position. The hub may include a plurality of retaining lips that will retain a disk when placed on the hub. A release button may also be provided that cooperatively engages the hub to move the hub between a relaxed position and a flexed position. The release button may cooperatively engage a pair of cam followers situated on the hub so that when the release button is depressed the hub moves between the relaxed position and the flexed position. With a disk held on the hub, when the release button is depressed the hub moves to its flexed position, which retracts the retaining lips within the inside diameter of the center hole of the disk so that the disk may be removed from the hub. At least one stem may also be provided that extends from the inside of a spine connecting the front and base covers such that the stem will abut a portion of the disk's peripheral edge when the apparatus is closed to hold the disk in place. A plate extending from the inside of the front cover may also be provided such that a portion of the plate will abut a portion of the disk's peripheral edge when the apparatus is closed to hold the disk in place.

The present invention provides a heating pad capable of rapid initial heat transfer to a heating pad member by means of a removable gel pack member which is releasably attached to the heating pad member. The heating pads of the present invention are useful for the rapid and convenient treatment of various muscular and orthopedic aches and pains.
