A system, method, and apparatus are discussed for a passive optical camera-based system to detect a presence of one or more vehicles with one or more cameras. A detection algorithm is applied to recognize of the presence of the one or more vehicles using one or more imaging processors and the one or more cameras to detect fluctuations in light intensity from scattered light and/or reflections off of that vehicle. Those scattered light and/or reflections are captured in images contained in a set of frames from the one or more cameras.

Passive optical detection method and system for vehicles

A system and method for detecting vibration information by receiving electromagnetic radiation reflected or emitted from a target object at a photodetector array to provide real-time imaging of the target object. The detected radiation may be visible light, infrared or ultraviolet radiation, and/or of other desired frequency ranges. The detected radiation is AC-coupled to isolate components relating to oscillations of the target object from components relating to ambient radiation, e.g. background sunlight, and is digitized, stored, and subjected to processing such as a Fourier transform to generate outputs representative of frequencies of oscillation, which can be used for analysis of the target object.

Method and apparatus for real-time vibration imaging

The present invention provides a golf ball and a method for making the ball. Two cups are molded from an elastomer separately from a center. In one embodiment of the method, the cups are molded on both sides of a center mold plate with hemispherical protrusions. The protrusions force the elastomer cup material into cavities in outer mold plates on either side of the center mold plate, thus forming cups with cavities. The solid or fluid-filled center is placed within the cup cavities, and the cups are joined, preferably by raising the temperature of the mold above the cure activation temperature of the cup material. In some embodiments of the cups, the cups can be formed with non-planar mating surfaces that mesh with each other. The non-planar mating surfaces preferably have a pattern that is symmetrical about the cavities, such as concentric ridges or a tongue and a groove.

Network that learns what it actually does

There is disclosed herein a technique for detecting and/or identifying a particular object from which electromagnetic radiation is emitted or reflected at an intensity which fluctuates in accordance with a frequency pattern unique to that object. In accordance with the technique, the fluctuating electromagnetic radiation is detected by suitable equipment which can operate across an optical bandwidth extending from the ultraviolet (200 nm) to the infrared (14 micrometers) spectrum. The detected electromagnetic radiation is converted to an electrical signal having the same unique frequency pattern as the electromagnetic radiation itself. This electrical signal, its frequency pattern serving as an identifying signature of the object in question, is used to detect, track, and/or identify the object.

Technique for detecting and identifying certain objects

Method and apparatus for limiting optical radiation to an optical sensor are disclosed for protecting the sensor against damage from high intensity optical radiation. A fixed electric field is established between a pair of spaced electrodes by connection of the electrodes to a DC voltage source. Small solid particles oscillate back and forth in the electric field between the electrodes. Incident optical radiation is focused at a focal plane at the oscillating solid particles, and energy transmitted through the oscillating particles is focused at the optical sensor. The transmittance of the particle-containing space is substantially constant for incident optical radiation intensity up to a threshold level below which the sensor is undamaged by the radiation. Above the threshold, oscillating particles are heated to a high temperature for vaporization, ionization and thermal expansion thereof for increased scatter and absorption thereby limiting optical radiation to the sensor to an intensity below which damage to the sensor occurs.

An automatic machine and method for preparing a wound core of a golf ball. The machine has a plurality of winding stations services by one mechanical arm. The winding station has a cooling tower for holding frozen centers, a winding machine and tension device for performing the actual winding operation and an exit chute for wound cores. The specific steps for preparing the core are disclosed.

Preparation of wound golf ball cores

A finished, painted golf ball is disclosed. Dimples on the golf ball are interrelated by dimple number, dimple diameter and dimple depth and are arranged on the surface of the golf ball in a manner which enables the golf ball to travel further. At least about 80% of the distances between the closest points of the edges of adjacent dimples are less than about 0.065 inches and at least about 55% of the distances between the closest points of the edges of adjacent dimples are greater than about 0.001 inches. Golf ball

A polyurethane covered golf ball is made by allowing the polyurethane cover stock material to partially cure in an open mold and subsequently molding a golf ball product. The molding is done by first molding a smooth-surfaced golf ball product in a smooth-walled fixed-pin mold and then, in a second molding step, using a compression mold to impart dimples onto the smooth-surfaced golf ball product. Between the two molding steps an intermediate curing step is employed. The initial curing time is an open mold and the intermediate curing time between the two molding steps is minimized through the use of a sufficient amount of catalyst, by keeping the smooth mold at an elevated temperature, or by using the fast-reacting chemical components.

Dimples on a golf ball are interrelated by dimple number, dimple diameter and dimple depth and are arranged on the surface of the golf ball in a manner which enables the golf ball to travel further. A golf ball with improved distance is disclosed. The golf ball has a relatively low spin velocity coupled with a particular dimple number, diameter, depth and arrangement. The ball is characterized by a lower flight trajectory and longer total distance. In a preferred embodiment (Example 10, shown in FIG. 2), the dimples marked 18 have a diameter of 0.140 inches.+-.0.002 inches, while the balance of the dimples have a diameter of 0.160 inches.+-.0.002 inches.
