A no solid bed extruder screw for processing a material to a molten state has a body with a helical thread formed thereon, the thread having pushing and trailing surfaces. The body has an outer surface and extends longitudinally between feed and discharge ends. A channel for receiving the material to be processed is defined between the outer surface of the body and an outer diameter of the thread bounded by the pushing surface and the trailing surface of the thread. A volume of the channel decreases in a plurality of revolutions of the thread in a direction from the feed end to the discharge end. A channel depth between the pushing surface and the trailing surface decreases for a first portion of the channel toward the feed end and increases for a second portion of the channel toward the discharge end.

No solid bed extruder screw

The present invention provides an alarm system capable of monitoring and controlling access to a controlled area using a central controller and access keys each having specified permissions. The system is operable to record images or video of the access entrance areas, utilize sensors for detecting tampering with the hardware of the system; sound alarms when the rules of the alarm system are violated; send alerts to management and other authorized personnel when the rules of the alarm system are violated; and log and correlate data regarding the use of the access keys and images/video taken with the dates and times, and the identities of the access key holders to deter any misuse of the alarm system.

Service entrance alarm system and methods of using the same

Electronic devices, such as memory devices are tested by applying test data, such as vectors of memory data having data field, control and address information, with a tester to detect error responses. Applied test data is captured, compressed and stored for subsequent analysis to isolate the test data associated with the error response. The saved compressed test data is de-compressed to replay the test data for a logic analyzer so that adequate history of the test data exists to determine the test cycles that included the stimulus associated with the error response. Identification of the test cycles that include the stimulus associated with the error response allows creation of test programs that run in reduced time by avoiding empty test cycles not associated with the error response.

Method and system for test data capture and compression for electronic device analysis

An extruder screw includes an energy transfer section divided into successive barrier sections in which a channel formed by a first thread is divided into at least two sub-channels by a second thread. A ratio of the difference in outer diameters of the threads is approximately inversely proportional to the ratio of the lengths of adjacent ones of the barrier sections.

Extruder screw with improved energy efficient melting

An extruder screw mechanism has a barrel that is heated by heating coils, an internal screw, and a cylindrical melt sleeve having a plurality of circumferentially spaced, axially extending, radial slots there through located between the external barrel and the internal screw. Another embodiment of the extruder has a barrel and an internal screw, with the internal screw having either a single central axial bore or a plurality of internal axial bores. The internal screw is provided with a plurality of external threads, with the threads each having a curved starting portion with a helix angle that has a finite value and gradually increases along an initial portion of the screw until the threads are substantially linear and parallel to the axis of the screw along the melting portion of the screw; a related embodiment has threadless portion separating the linear threads from the curved upstream threads. Circumferentially spaced, axially extending, radial slots extend from the outer surface of the screw along the melt section portion of the screw radially inwardly to an associated axial bore for removing melted polymer as it forms between solid polymer and a heated surface.

Polymer melting and extruding apparatus with linear downstream threads

An extruder-mixer has a plurality of rotor rings provided on the downstream end of a motor driven extruder shaft mounted for rotation in a conventional heated barrel or stator. The rings comprise a plurality of spaced driven rotor rings spaced apart from each other and a plurality of non-driven but rotatable floating rings interleaved between each pair of driven rotor rings. Both rings have parallel upstream and downstream faces between which polymer flow passageways extend so that the polymer melt moves downstream first through one type of ring followed by movement through the other type of ring and the viscosity of the melt causes the rotatable floating rings to be rotated by the driven rings at a slower speed than the driven rings so that shearing force on the melt effects mixing of the melt.

Floating ring mixer for extruder

A mixer for plasticable resins has a fixedly positioned heated barrel with a power driven screw mounted axially in the barrel bore, a driven rotor is axially aligned with and extending in a downstream direction from the downstream end of power driven screw. A series of elongated rotor flow transfer cavities are in the outer surface of the rotor. The rotor flow transfer cavities extending inwardly and are arranged in a plurality of axially aligned rows and a plurality of annular rows concentric to the axis of the rotor. A floating sleeve is coaxially positioned over the power driven rotor and interposed between the rotor and the barrel so as to be capable of independent rotation relative to both the power driven rotor and the barrel. The floating sleeve has a plurality of parallel outwardly extending ring flanges extending radially outwardly and inwardly facing a plurality of annular and elongated in cross-section outer sleeve flow channels each having an upstream end and a downstream end provided between adjacent ring flanges. A series of outflow apertures extend through the floating sleeve and communicate on opposite ends with the upstream end of an elongated outer sleeve flow channel of the floating sleeve flow channel and the downstream end of one of the elongated rotor flow transfer cavities of the rotor.

Floating sleeve mixer and method

An alarm system for monitoring an entrance/exit from a premises is provided with a deadbolt switch, timing mechanism, alarm circuitry and an alarm indicator. The alarm system is activated when the deadbolt is unlocked. The alarm circuitry determines if the unlocking of the deadbolt was authorized or unauthorized. If the unlocking was unauthorized, the alarm indicator is activated. If the unlocking was authorized, the timing mechanism is activated. If the deadbolt is not relocked within the time period preset into the timing mechanism, the alarm indicator is activated. The timing mechanism may be reset by authorized persons to allow the deadbolt to remain open for additional time periods, one period at a time.

Internal pilferage alarm

Photoinitiator compositions are disclosed which contain 3,3'-carbonyl bis(7-diethylaminocoumarin); an alkyl ester of a p-dialkylamino benzoic acid; and either camphorquinone or a 2,4,5-triphenylimidazolyl dimer. Photoinitiators are also provided which contain 3,3'-carbonyl bis(7-diethylaminocoumarin); an alkyl ester of a p-dialkylamino benzoic acid; camphorquinone and a 2,4,5-triphenylimidazolyl dimer. These latter photoinitiators are particularly useful in photopolymerizable compositions which are polymerized by exposure to visible laser light.

A mixer assembly for mixing fluid material in the bore of a barrel wherein the mixer assembly includes structure for mixing and pumping toward its outlet end the material fed thereto comprising a stator assembly fixed in the barrel having outer cylindrical surface portions conforming substantially to the surface of the bore and having a stator bore provided with a groove-interrupted inner surface, and a driven rotor member having a groove-interrupted outer surface confronting the inner stator surface. The inner stator surface and outer rotor surface each have continuous helical grooves cut therein along a helical path which changes in depth with length from a small minimum depth to a larger maximum depth but never disappearing and having a plurality of axially spaced circumferential grooves at planes perpendicular to the bore center axis subdividing such surfaces into axially spaced serially arranged mixer sections with portions of the helical grooves extending between the circumferential grooves defining each section.

Transfer mixer assembly for use with an extruder screw of a polymer

A screw extruder and positive displacement wave pump assembly for plasticating or melting solid plastic material or the like, including an extruder screw member in an elongated cylindrical barrel having an upstream end and a downstream or discharge end, the screw being rotatably housed in portions of the barrel adjacent the upstream end. The screw has a helical thread of plural turns integral with the core of the screw having a minimum clearance to the barrel for feeding the plastic material along the screw from its feed end to its discharge end. A positive displacement wave pump is located in the barrel near the outlet end having a stator frame and a rotor member rotatable therein coupled to and driven by the screw, the rotor member having an outer surface of developed helical coutour providing a plural turn helical thread of wide rounded form to position a stack of slidable sealing discs guided for diametric sliding movement by the rotor passing therethrough to form a series of pumping pockets which progress longitudinally through the pump section.

Extruder screw and positive displacement wave pump assembly

A positive displacement wave pump assembly for pumping liquid or gaseous or plastic fluids or mixtures thereof with solids or the like, including an elongated cylindrical tube or barrel having an upstream end and a downstream or discharge end, a drive shaft rotatable in portions of the barrel adjacent the upstream end, and a positive displacement wave pump is located in the barrel near the outlet end having a stator frame and a rotor member rotatable therein coupled to and driven by the driveshaft. The rotor member has an outer surface of developed helical coutour providing a plural turn helical thread of wide rounded form to position a stack of slidable sealing discs guided for diametric sliding movement by the rotor passing therethrough to form a seris of pumping pockets which progress longitudinally through the pump.

A screw extruder and positive displacement pump assembly for plasticating or melting solid plastic material or the like, including an extruder screw member in an elongated cylindrical barrel having an upstream end and a downstream or discharge end, the screw being rotatably housed in portions of the barrel adjacent the upstream end. Positive displacement pump assembly

Extruders are widely used to transform solid plastic materials into molten plastic materials. Because of the low thermal conductivity of plastic materials and the inefficient mixing of the plastic materials inside an extruder, the heat is not evenly distributed in the material being processed and some portion of the material emerges from the extruder with excessive heat. This invention discloses a new screw with a novel mixing section which promotes mixing of the hot, molten material with the cold, unmolten material inside the screw channel by its unique geometry, thereby improving the heat transfer from the hot, molten material to the cold, unmolten material and increasing the energy efficiency of the extruder.
