A user equipment node, upon determining that the data loss in a requested file is above, or likely to be above a threshold value, transmits a delivery missing report to a server node indicating that the data loss in the requested file is above the threshold value. The delivery missing report is used by the server node for determining whether or not a multicast file repair procedure should be enabled, based on the number of delivery missing reports it has received from other user equipment nodes. This enables a point-to-multipoint file repair procedure to be enabled sooner, and prevent a flood of point-to-point file repairs.

It is presented a method for assisting access to access protected services in a cellular multimedia delivery system. The method is performed in a wireless device and comprises the steps of: obtaining a set of one or more service identifiers, each service identifier being associated with a service; for each service identified by one of the service identifiers, determining if the service is access protected by reading a configuration associated with the service, independent of any delivery method associated with the service; and transmitting, to a key manager server, a request for service keys for all services which have been determined to be access protected. A corresponding wireless device, compute program and computer program product are also presented.

It is presented a method, executed in a media receiver connected to a media server in parallel via an internet protocol, IP, network and a cable television network. The method comprises the steps of: sending a media setup message to a middleware server, the media setup message comprising a content identifier, IP routing data and cable television routing data; receiving a setup confirmation message from the middleware server, the setup confirmation message comprising a transport indicator indicating which one of the IP network and the cable television network is to be used for media streaming from the media server to the media receiver; and receiving a media stream from the media server using either the IP network or the cable television network, as indicated by the transport indicator. Corresponding media receiver, middleware server, computer programs and computer program products are also presented.

Methods, apparatuses and computer programs for media streaming

A method and apparatus are provided for delivering multicast media in a network in which at least some nodes do not support delivery of multicast packets. A RTSP SETUP request is sent to a streaming server to send multicast packets, encapsulated within unicast wrappers, to a gateway node in the network. The RTSP SETUP request includes details both of the multicast destination address, and of the unicast destination address of the gateway node, requiring an extension to the RTSP protocol as currently defined and enabling the media server to send multicast packets in a unicast tunnel dynamically.
