Inertial short-circuit and seismic hook

The invention relates to a universal vacuum interrupter (UVI) () for an air disconnect switch () comprising a rotatable actuating arm () arranged for engagement by a corresponding contact (), such as a roller, attached to the main blade () of an air disconnect switch (). In particular, the actuating arm () comprises two rods () extending next to each other and adapted for receiving the corresponding contact () of the main blade () between them. The two rods () are movable to alter the distance between them but are biased together by biasing means (), e.g. helical springs. As the corresponding contact () of a main blade () will be in engagement with both rods () during disconnection and reconnection of the air disconnect switch (), arcing is thereby prevented. Preferably, the two rods () of the UVI () are made of aluminium.

Embodiments of the disclosure can include systems and methods for providing a seismic support structure for electrical equipment, including low voltage or high voltage electrical equipment and power transmission equipment, to be supported above a surface, such as the ground or a foundation.

Seismic support structure

The invention relates to a conductor () for electrical equipment, the conductor comprising at least one hollow section member () of electrically conductive material that is elongate along a longitudinal axis (Y), the conductor having an outside surface in which at least a portion forms corrugations () in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The conductor may advantageously form a movable contact (blade) () of a high voltage disconnector.

Self-deicing lightweight conductor

The invention relates to a conductor for electrical equipment, including at least two electrically-conductive material support elements spaced apart from each other along a longitudinal axis (Y) and at least four electrically-conductive material structural sections elongate along the longitudinal axis (Y), curved transversely to the longitudinal axis, and supported by the support elements; wherein the support elements further hold apart in pairs the at least four curved structural sections, the separation maintained between two curved structural sections of a pair defining an open area extending transversely to the longitudinal axis and at least between the support elements, said open area reducing in size progressively and continuously. This conductor may advantageously form a movable contact (blade) of a high-voltage disconnector.
