A roller type one-way clutch includes an outer race in which at least one pocket having a cam surface on an inner periphery thereof is formed, an inner race which is spaced away from the outer race on an inside diameter side in a radial direction and which is relatively rotatably disposed concentrically with respect to the outer race, a roller which is disposed in the pocket and which engages with the cam surface to transmit a torque between the outer race and the inner race, a spring which is disposed between the outer race and the roller in the pocket and which urges the roller in a direction in which the roller engages with the cam surface, and a side plate secured to be in contact with one end surface in an axial direction of the outer race. The side plate has a non-circular shape, the one end surface in the axial direction is annular, and at least a portion of the one end surface in the axial direction of the outer race is exposed in a state in which the side plate is secured.

Roller-type one-way clutch and side plate

In a wet-type multi-plate clutch comprising an externally-toothed plate and an internally-toothed plate each of which is formed by adhering a friction material on a core plate and in which torque is transmitted by engaging the externally-toothed plate and the internally-toothed plate, the friction materials are adhered on opposed surfaces of the externally-toothed plate and the internally-toothed plate which are opposed to each other.

Wet-type multi-plate clutch

The present invention provides a friction plate having a friction surface formed by adhering a friction material to a substantially annular core plate and wherein the friction surface is provided with an oil passage communicated with inner and outer peripheral edges of the friction plate, a first oil groove having an opening portion opened to the inner peripheral edge of the friction plate and an end portion terminating at a position between the inner and outer peripheral edges, and a second first oil groove having an opening portion opened to the outer peripheral edge of the friction plate and an end portion terminating at a position between the inner and outer peripheral edges.

The present invention provides a wet multi-plate clutch comprising an external toothed plate formed by sticking a friction material to a core plate and an internal toothed plate formed by sticking a friction material to a core plate and designed so that torque is transmitted by engaging the external toothed plate with the internal toothed plate and wherein the friction materials are stuck to opposed surfaces where the external toothed plate is opposed to the internal toothed plate, and surfaces of the core plates to which the friction materials are stuck are provided with a plurality of surfaces offset axially.

Wet multi-plate clutch

The present invention provides a wet-type multi-plate clutch comprising an external toothed plate formed by sticking a friction material onto a core plate and an internal toothed plate formed by a friction material onto a core plate and designed so that torque is transmitted by engaging the external toothed plate with the internal toothed plate and wherein each of the external toothed plate and the internal toothed plate has one axial surface including a convex surface to which a friction material is stuck, and a friction surface from which a surface of the core plate is exposed and wherein the convex surface and the friction surface are opposed to each other.

A lockup clutch for a torque converter is provided with a friction lining. The friction lining is divided into a radially-outer-side friction lining and a radially-inner-side friction lining. &#x3bc;-&#x3bd; characteristics of the radially-outer-side friction lining have a positive gradient to inhibit occurrence of a shudder by a stick-slip which takes place. The radially-inner-side friction lining is equipped with a large coefficient of static friction to provide large torque capacity during a clutch engagement. The radially-outer-side friction lining is bonded on a side of a piston in said lockup clutch.

The present invention provides a lock-up clutch mechanism for a torque converter, in which a plurality of friction materials are arranged concentrically in a radial direction and adjacent friction materials are integrally connected to each other.

Lock-up clutch mechanism for torque converter

A friction plate for a wet-type multiplate clutch is provided with a core plate and friction linings bonded on opposite sides of the core plate, respectively. Each of the friction linings is composed of plural segment pieces bonded at angular intervals on the corresponding one of said opposite sides. The segment pieces each have at least one first oil groove and at least one second oil groove. The first oil groove opens to a radially-inner side of its corresponding segment piece and has a closed end portion located in a radially-intermediate part of the corresponding segment piece, and the second oil groove opens to a radially-outer side of the corresponding segment piece and has a closed end portion located in another radially-intermediate part of the corresponding segment piece. The segment pieces are each provided in a friction surface thereof with at least one oil pocket closed at a circumference thereof.

Friction plate for wet-type multiplate clutch

In a lockup clutch assembly for use in a torque converter, a friction lining attached to one of a clutch piston and a front cover of the torque converter is divided into an outer-circumference-side friction lining and an inner-circumference-side friction lining. The outer-circumference-side friction lining contains as a filler diatomaceous earth in a higher proportion than the inner-circumference-side friction lining.
