An adhesive, comprising (A) a polymeric MDI, (B) modified polyvinyl acetate emulsion, (C) aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution, and (D) a filler. Preferably, a mass ratio of A:B:C:D is 30:(60&#x2013;160):(50&#x2013;160):(10&#x2013;140) provided that the aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution (C) is in a concentration of 10% by mass.

The present invention relates a method for manufacturing ligneous material, characterized in comprising the steps of acetylating wood elements selected from among wood pieces crushed from lumber, thin wood plates peeled from lumber, and wood fiber obtained by means of defibrating lumber, such that the degree of acetylation (weight percent gain) is 7% or greater, and preferably 7 to 18%; and binding the resultant aceylated wood elements, using a binder containing polyisocyanate. Thereby, it is possible to provide inexpensive ligneous material which exhibits only minor dimensional changes from moisture, wherein only a small amount of formaldehyde is released.

Method for manufacturing ligneous material

The present invention's modifying method for wood elements includes a step for soaking wood elements in one or a mixture of acetic anhydride, acetic acid, or chloroacetic acid; and a step for acetylating the impregnated wood elements in a gaseous phase. This method makes it possible to reduce the time required for the step of acetylating the wood elements, simplifies the process, reduces fabrication costs, and enables fabrication of a wood fiberboard having high dimensional stability.

Modifying method for wood elements

The wood fiberboard of the present invention comprises wood fibers which have been subjected to an acetylation treatment and wood fibers which have not been subjected to an acetylation treatment bonded together by a binder resin, wherein the content of the wood fibers which have been subjected to an acetylation treatment is 35 to 90% by weight of the total amount of wood fibers which have been treated to an acetylation treatment and wood fibers which have not been subjected to an acetylation treatment.

Wood fiberboard and manufacturing method therefor

A wood board of sufficient strength which demonstrates high dimensional stability and little warping can be obtained, while the production process therefor is simplified and may be carried out in less time and at a lower cost as compared to conventional methods by means of a method for producing a wood board comprising the steps of shaving lumber to produce wooden strands; applying a binder to the wooden strands; subjecting the binder coated wooden strands to a forming process to form a preformed material 1; and carrying out a steam injection pressing in which the preformed material 1 is subjected to thermal compression molding while being moisturized so as to obtain a molded material having a water content of 5 to 15%; as well as by means of a method for producing a wood board, comprising the steps of shaving lumber to produce wooden strands; applying a binder to the wooden strands after adjusting the water content of the wooden strands to 10 to 25%, or, alternatively, adding water when applying the binder to the wooden strands so that the water content is in the range of 10 to 25%; and subjecting the binder coated wooden strands to a forming process to form a preformed material 1; and carrying out thermal compression molding of the preformed material 1 to obtain a molded material having a water content of 5 to 15%.

Manufacturing method for a wood board

The present invention provides a wood board, and a flooring material using this, which uses thin wooden strands as a raw material, has superior surface smoothness, and possesses sufficient strength and rigidity. The wood board in accordance with the present invention comprises a core layer 1 comprising a strand board, and a surface layer 2 comprising a oriented strand board which is laminated on at least one surface of the core layer 1; the surface layer 2 comprises thin wooden strands which are thinner than the thin wooden strands comprising the core layer, and furthermore, the flooring material of the present invention is obtained by laminating a decorative single sheet onto at least one of the surface layers 2 of the wood board. The wood board and flooring material in accordance with the present invention have high strength and superior surface smoothness. Furthermore, if a specified water-repelling agent is added to the binder which is used in molding, it is possible to obtain a wood board having superior water resistance. Furthermore, the present invention makes effective use of raw materials which were conventionally considered to be waste materials, so that it is possible to conserve forest resources, and to reduce raw material costs.

Wood board and a flooring material made therefrom

Wood fiber, inorganic cellular material, flame retardant and an organic binder for binding these materials, are mixed together and hot press formed to give a wood based panel. The resultant panel has a wood like texture, is light weight, has excellent sound absorption properties, and is semi-incombustible, and has a good insulating property for use as a wall or ceiling material.

Method of manufacturing wood based panels

A wood board comprising a core layer comprising one or more strand boards formed by using a foaming binder, and at least one surface layer comprising oriented strand board, which is laminated to at least one surface of the core layer, the foaming binder being a mixture of a foaming resin and a non-foaming resin at a ratio within a range of 4:1-1:4. It is preferable that the thin wooden strips comprising the surface layer has at least one of an average length value and an average width value thereof which is larger than that of the thin wooden strips comprising the core layer. The wood board of the present invention has particularly superior resistance to moisture, and has low density and high strength. In the wood board of the present invention, it is possible to adjust the anisotropy of the strength thereof by adjusting the number of layers or the thickness thereof. The present invention furthermore provides a flooring material having high strength in which a decorative single sheet is applied to at least one surface of the wood board described above.

In production of a decorative board with overlaid wood pieces used for surface covering of various furniture, building materials and car interior decoration, wood pieces supplied from an overhead hopper by gravity are dispersed on a flat feeder by application of vibration and are transferred in a dispersed state onto base boards successively supplied by a transfer conveyor in a horizontal direction. Almost no need for manual operation raises production efficiency and dispersion by mechanical vibration assures high degree of uniformity of patterns on the products. Fully automatic processing enables reproduction of patterns with commerically acceptable fidelity.

Automatic method and apparatus for scattering wood pieces in production

In production of a planar wooden decorative article used for surface covering of furnitures and home interior decorations, a resin prepregnated sheet is prepared by impregnating a material sheet with hardenable resin solution and plurality of resin prepregnated sheets are combined with small wooden pieces to form a laminated composite which is then hardened by heating under pressure. The product has a rich woody impression due to inclusion of the small wooden pieces predominant in the surface region and high toughness coming from the laminated construction.
