A particular method includes displaying a user interface for a media recorder in response to first user input. The method includes receiving a command to display recording space for the media recorder via the user interface. The method also includes sending a representation of the recording space to a display device. The representation includes a first indicator of available recording space, a second indicator of recording space used to store first media content that is deletable without additional user input when one or more conditions are met, and a third indicator of recording space used to store second media content, where an item of the second media content can only be deleted by the media recorder when the media recorder receives a user command to delete the item.

A network administration system includes an Internet-based repair (eRepair) subsystem that is configured to accept customer trouble reports related to a network and to provide customer trouble report status information to customers. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and receiving a change in status to the work order. The change in status is annotated with a date and a time, with the date and the time reflecting the local time zone of a telephone system wire center where the work order is locally managed. Processes and systems are disclosed for managing a request for a test of a communication system. One embodiment communicates with a communications network and acquires the request. The request may be annotated with at least one of a date, a time, and an origin of the request. The embodiment formats the request with testability data desired by a test system conducting the test of the communication system. The formatted request is submitted to the test system, and then the results of the test are acquired. The embodiment distributes the results, wherein the process manages requests and results for tests of the communication system.

Processes and systems are disclosed for creating a maintenance report for a communications system. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and acquiring a telephone line record. The telephone line record include at least one of i) customer information from a Customer Record Information System, ii) facility information from a Loop Facility Assignment Control System, and iii) equipment information from a switch system analyzing telephone switches. The maintenance report is generated using the acquired telephone line record. The process creates the maintenance report using fresh data.
