The disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for performing beam alignment. In some embodiments, a method of performing beam alignment by a user equipment (UE) of a wireless network, includes determining, by the UE based on a plurality of parameters associated with the UE, a first quality level of a connection of the UE in a first orientation and at a geographical location. The connection uses a first beam from at least one network entity of the wireless network. The method further includes determining, by the UE based on the first quality level, a second orientation from a plurality of orientations at the geographical location. The second quality level of the second orientation exceeds the first quality level. The method further includes changing, by the UE, an orientation of the UE from the first orientation to the second orientation.

Method and system for beam alignment in wireless network

Embodiments herein provide a method for performing voice call performance by a user equipment (UE). A voice call is preferred for a cellular network over a Wi-Fi network, an IMS is registered over a 5G BS, the 5G BS is not supported for the voice call, and a Wi-Fi device and a 4G BS are supported for the voice call. The method includes: detecting an event related to the voice call; comparing signal strength of the Wi-Fi device and signal strength of the 4G BS; shifting an IMS registration from the 5G BS to the Wi-Fi device, upon determining that the signal strength of the Wi-Fi device is greater than the signal strength of the 4G BS; and initiating the voice call over the Wi-Fi device upon detecting a trigger for the voice call.

Method and user equipment for enhancing voice call performance

Embodiments herein disclose UE based implementations to manage voice/video over new radio (VoNR)/EPSFB calls. In an embodiment, there can be a zero CQI reporting for indicating a signal deterioration during the VoNR call. In an embodiment, at least one of a Wi-Fi network or a dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) feature, a UE initiated fallback procedure and an internet bearer can be used for continuing the VoNR call. Various embodiments may reduce the call failures and manage calls on VoNR/5G which can be useful to the UE in volatile signal conditions.

Methods and/or systems for power management by a user equipment (UE) in an uplink transmission. The method may include determining, whether feedback related to transmit power of the UE, from a network entity is available and determining a first transmit power of the UE based on the determination and at least one of a plurality of transmitting parameters associated with the UE, evaluating a first spectral efficiency of the UE upon transmitting data at the first transmit power in a predefined time duration, determining a plurality of second transmit power. The method may include evaluating a plurality of second spectral efficiencies and determining a maximum spectral efficiency among the first and the plurality of second spectral efficiencies and transmitting the data at final transmit power among the first and the second plurality of second spectral efficiencies, the final transmit power corresponds to the maximum spectral efficiency.

Methods and systems for power management in an uplink transmission

A method for random access channel (RACH) procedure in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes determining a plurality of signal condition parameters associated with the UE. Further, the method includes determining whether at least one signal condition parameter of the plurality of signal condition parameters meets at least one signal condition threshold from a plurality of signal condition thresholds. Further, the method includes triggering one of a 2-step RACH procedure in response to determining that the at least one signal condition parameter of the plurality of signal condition parameters meets the at least one signal condition threshold, or a 4-step RACH procedure in response to determining that the at least one signal condition parameter of the plurality of signal condition parameters does not meet the at least one signal condition threshold.

Method and UE for controlling 2-step and 4-step RACH procedure in a wireless network

A method for selecting cell using a fifth generation (5G) user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes detecting an event, when the 5G UE is camped on a serving cell; detecting availability of one or more voice over new radio (VoNR) cells and one or more non-VoNR cells in vicinity of the serving cell in response to detecting the event; based on the event, performing one of (i) selecting a VoNR cell when only one VoNR cell is available, (ii) identifying and selecting a VoNR cell based on a plurality of cell parameters, when a plurality of VoNR cells are available, and (iii) identifying and selecting a non-VoNR cell from the one or more non-VoNR cells, based on the plurality of cell parameters, when one of the one or more non-VoNR cells is available.

A method for managing sleep duration in a 5Generation (5G) and a user equipment (UE) are provided. The method includes sending, by the UE, a plurality of data packets to a network in a connected mode discontinuous reception (cDRX) cycle and detecting, by the UE, an initiation of a retransmission timer associated with the plurality of data packets. Method and UE for managing sleep duration in CDRX session

A method for handling data, dangling in a new radio (NR) leg of a split bearer, by a user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The method comprises predicting occurrence of NR uplink (UL) leg switch; sending a buffer status report (BSR) pertaining to protocol data units (PDUs) in radio link control (RLC) layer and media access control (MAC) layer in the NR leg based on predicting the occurrence of NR UL leg switch; and initiating recovery of dangling PDUs in the NR leg after the occurrence of the NR UL leg switch, wherein the recovery includes sending the dangling PDUs to a long term evolution (LTE) leg of the split bearer.
