A circuit interrupter includes separable contacts; an operating mechanism; an electronic trip unit; and a current sensor assembly including: a harvester circuit having a primary conductor through which input current passes, a secondary winding and a harvester core structured to saturate at a first input current level, a Rogowski coil structured to measure voltage at an output of the Rogowski coil, the measured voltage indicative of output current of the Rogowski coil, where linearity of the output of Rogowski coil deviates more than a deviation tolerance based at least in part on saturation of the harvester core at the first input current level, and a compensation coil arranged at 180 degree opposite to the secondary winding of the harvester core, the compensation coil structured to delay saturation of the harvester core until the input current reaches a second input current level higher than the first input current level.

System and method of improving linearity of current sensor for a circuit interrupter

A power distribution system includes a first intelligent circuit breaker; a plurality of second intelligent circuit breakers, the second intelligent circuit breaker is structured to transmit the circuit breaker information to the first intelligent circuit breaker; and an energy monitoring device coupled to the first and second intelligent circuit breakers and structured to receive the circuit breaker information, the energy monitoring device including a dynamic coordination system structured to: (i) determine whether an adjustment to configuration setting of an intelligent circuit breaker is required based at least in part on the circuit breaker information, (ii) identify the intelligent circuit breaker with the configuration setting required to be adjusted based on a determination that the adjustment is required, and (iii) transmit an alert to user, indicating that the adjustment to the configuration setting of the identified intelligent circuit breaker is required and device address of the identified intelligent circuit breaker.

Intelligent circuit breaker with dynamic coordination system

An apparatus includes a switch having alternately open and closed conditions, and a shunt trip mechanism configured to detect and respond to an electrical fault condition. The apparatus further includes an operating mechanism including a spring assembly. The operating mechanism is actuatable manually to deflect the spring assembly into a stressed condition, and is actuatable automatically in response to the shunt trip mechanism to shift the switch into the open condition upon return deflection of the spring assembly from the stressed condition. The spring assembly may include springs connected in parallel.
