In a data-base system including a data-base management system, a dictionary device for managing definition information and generation management information in a data base, and a dictionary file for storing the generation management information, a generation management system is provided between the data-base management system and a data storage file to acquire data in accordance with the generation management information, the dictionary device is made independent of the data-base management system and connected to an input/output device, the dictionary file and the data-base management system, new or update generation management information is registered in the dictionary file by means of the dictionary device when the new or update generation information classified for each item is designated through the input/output device while the timing for acquiring the generation information is designated suitably, and the data-base management system is operated to issue a data-base output request to the generation management system based on the generation management information registered in the dictionary file to thereby make the generation management system read out data from the data base in accordance with the registered generation management information to supply the read-out data to the designated data storage file.

Database generation management method and system

A distributed data base access request processing system in a distributed data base system including a computer system having a data base and a plurality of computer system effecting an update or a reference to the data base. A client side requesting a data base access issues a request for a synchronous processing to a server side if the data base access is related to a reference operation; whereas an asynchronous processing is requested if the data base access is associated with an update operation. On receiving such a request of a synchronous processing, the server side returns a response to the client side after the requested data base processing is completed. If an asynchronous processing is requested, the response is returned to the client side without waiting for the completion of the requested data base processing.

Distributed data base access request processing system

In knowledge translation of data base in an expert system which draws inference based on knowledge, a table for defining a correspondence relationship between the knowledge and the data base, data base/knowledge translator for reading data necessary for the inference directly from the data base by using the correspondence relation table and translating it to knowledge form, and knowledge/data base translator for translating the knowledge prepared by the inference to data base form by using the correspondence relation table and storing it are provided.
