The present document discloses a method of determining thickness of a wet film, in particular of microfibrillated cellulose. The method comprises conveying said film () in a wet state on a conveyor () having a conveyor width, the wet film having a film width which is less than the conveyor width, providing a laser projection () across a film edge, acquiring a series of images, each depicting an area of the conveyor, wherein the laser projection, a portion of the film and a portion of an exposed conveyor surface are visible, and using at least some of said images to determine at least one of a film thickness and a film thickness distribution across the film width. The document also discloses a method of forming a film, in particular a microfibrillated cellulose film, and a device for producing such film.

An apparatus and a method which heat an elongated product in at least two pulses including at least one first pulse wherein the product is pressed for at least 10 ms on a first pressure and at least one second heating and smoothing pulse wherein the product is pressed and/or heated at least for 10 ms on a pressure that is higher than the first pressure. The heating elements being arranged to heat the elongated product so that the heating the heating temperature is at least 80&#xb0; C. on at least one surface of the elongated product.

The present invention relates to a method for the production of a film comprising microfibrillated cellulose, wherein the method comprises the steps of; providing a suspension comprising between 70 weight-% to 100 weight-% of microfibrillated cellulose based on total dry weight, forming a fibrous web of said suspension, drying the web in a drying equipment wherein the web is at least partly dried at a drying rate above 75 kg(HO)/m/h by use of hot air whereby a film is formed. Method for the production of a film comprising microfibrillated cellulose, a film and a paper or paperboard product

According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus and a method comprising a forming section for feeding an aqueous furnish of fibres on a moving surface to form a shape of a product and a pressing and heating section for removing water from the shaped product received from the moving surface. The pressing and heating section comprises a felt and metal belt that are set to run against each other for receiving the furnish from the moving surface and heating elements for heating the web in at least two pulses including at least one first pulse wherein the product is pressed for at least 10-200 ms on a first pressure and at least one second heating and smoothing pulse wherein the product is heated at least for 10-200 ms on a pressure that is higher than the first pressure, and at least one of the surfaces pressing the product being the smooth metal belt.

Method and apparatus for producing a fibre web

An arrangement is disclosed for controlling the web in a press section of a paper of board machine wherein the press section includes a press nip and two fabrics arranged to travel through it. In addition, the press section includes a suction roll with a suction apparatus fitted after the press nip. The suction apparatus includes at least one suction case, which is arranged in a closing throat and/or an opening throat formed by one of the fabrics and the suction roll. The suction case is also arranged before and/or after the suction roll in the edge of the fabric in order to create a suction effect in a narrow edge area of the web.
