A first mark for indicating the direction of the rotational unbalance of a propeller shaft is provided on the propeller shaft while a second mark for indicating the direction of the rotational unbalance of a companion flange is provided on the companion flange, which is to be connected to the propeller shaft at a rotation-transmitting device. One of the directions of the rotational unbalances indicated by the first mark and the second mark is set as a direction along which the rotating mass becomes larger while the other is set as a direction along which the rotating mass becomes smaller, and one of the first mark and the second mark is provided over an angular region with a predetermined angle around an axis.

Coupling structure and coupling method for power transmission

An electromagnetic brake interposed between a fixed housing and a rotating member. The electromagnetic brake includes a multiplate brake mechanism, a ringlike core member fixed through an annular brake guide inside the fixed housing, an exciting coil accommodated in an annular groove formed on the core member, and a ringlike armature member arranged radially outside of the core member. Each of the core member and the armature member has a plurality of tapering surfaces. The tapering surfaces of the core member are respectively complementary in shape to the tapering surfaces of the armature member. The electromagnetic brake further includes a cylindrical pressure member movable in a direction of pressing the multiplate brake mechanism. The cylindrical pressure member has one end fixed to the armature member and another end engaged with the multiplate brake mechanism.

Electromagnetic brake

An electromagnetic brake interposed between a fixed housing and a rotating member. The electromagnetic brake includes a multiplate brake mechanism, a ringlike core member fixed in the fixed housing, an annular exciting coil accommodated in an annular groove formed on the core member, and a ringlike armature member opposed to the annular groove of the core member and having an outer diameter larger than the outer diameter of the core member. The electromagnetic brake further includes an annular pressure plate axially and movably mounted on the fixed housing at one end portion of the multiplate brake mechanism adjacent to the core member, and a cylindrical pressure member provided so as to surround the outer circumferential surface of the core member and be movable in a direction of pressing the multiplate brake mechanism as being guided by the core member. One end of the cylindrical pressure member is fixed to an outer circumferential portion of the armature member, and the other end is engaged with the annular pressure plate.

Electromagnetic coil assembly and electromagnetic actuator

An electromagnetic brake, interposed between a stationary housing and a rotational member, includes a multi-plate brake mechanism, a ring-like core member fixed within the housing, an exciting coil accommodated in a groove in the core member, and a ring-like armature disposed so as to confront the annular groove in the core member. The electromagnetic brake includes a cylindrical press member which having one end fixed to an outer circumferential portion of the armature and the other end engaged with the multi-plate brake mechanism and fitted on the core member, and also a cylindrical guide member having one end fixed to an inner circumferential portion of the armature and the other end fitted in the core member so that the armature is guided by the core member so as to move in the direction in which the multi-plate brake mechanism is pressed.

An electromagnetic coupling apparatus interposed between a fixed housing and a rotating member. The electromagnetic coupling apparatus includes a multiplate brake mechanism, a ringlike core member fixed in the housing, an annular exciting coil accommodated in an annular groove of the core member, and a ringlike armature member opposed to the annular groove of the core member. The armature member has an outer diameter larger than the outer diameter of the core member. The electromagnetic brake further includes a cylindrical pressure member having one end fixed to an outer circumferential portion of the armature member and the other end engaged with the multiplate brake mechanism. The cylindrical pressure member surrounds the core member so as to be movable in a direction of applying a pressure to the multiplate brake mechanism as being guided by the core member. The opposed portion between the core member and the armature member is formed by tapered end surfaces each having a predetermined tapered angle.

Electromagnetic coupling apparatus

The object of the present invention is to provide an electromagnetic friction connecting apparatus, which allows the easier operations associated with the installation of an exciting coil or a search coil in a core element. Input and output terminals having second horizontal parts extending in the vehicle inward direction and second vertical parts extending from the ends of the second horizontal parts into the radial outward direction are provided for the exciting coil and the search coil. Each end of the second vertical parts is situated radially inside a periphery surface of the exciting coil. Holes which allow the respective ends of the second vertical parts of the input and output terminals to face the outside are made on the core element and the housing. They are connected to the ends of the second vertical parts of the input and output terminals by inserting couplers into these holes.

Electromagnetic friction connecting apparatus

In a power transmission system for a four-wheel drive vehicle, a multiple disk clutch for distributing a proportion of the torque of the front wheels to the rear wheels is provided between a driving shaft which is connected to the front wheels which are main driven wheels and a driven shaft which is connected to the rear wheels which are auxiliary driven wheels. Between the driving shaft and the driven shaft a torque cam mechanism, a hydraulic pump and a bidirectional clutch mechanism are provided, in that order. When the rotational rate of the front wheels exceeds the rotational rate of the rear wheels, the bidirectional clutch mechanism is engaged, a first rotor of the hydraulic pump which is operatively connected to the front wheels and a second rotor which is operatively connected to the rear wheels rotate relative to each other, and a rotational load is generated by a hydraulic circuit. A first cam element and a second cam element of the torque cam mechanism rotate relative to each other as a result of the above-mentioned rotational load so as to generate a thrust force, and this thrust force causes engagement of the multiple disk clutch so as to put the vehicle into a four-wheel drive mode. It is thus possible to decrease the torque transmission capacity of the bidirectional clutch mechanism so reducing its size and cost.

Power transmission system for four-wheel drive vehicles

A multiple plate clutch is provided between a drive shaft continuously extending to front wheels which are main wheels and a driven shaft continuously extending to rear wheels. which are sub-drive wheels for distributing a part of the torque on the front wheels to the rear wheels. A tow-way clutch mechanism in which the drive shaft is connected to a single hydraulic pump via a clutch outer and a sleeve locks when the rotation speed of the drive shaft exceeds the rotation speed of the driven shaft beyond a predetermined rate to thereby drive the hydraulic pump so as to put the vehicle in a four-wheel drive condition, irrespective of the straight-ahead or straight-backward running operation of the vehicle, i.e., irrespective of the rotating direction of the drive shaft . Since only a minute torque is applied to the two-way clutch mechanism to drive the hydraulic pump , the torque transmission capacity of the two-way clutch can be decreased, whereby the miniaturization and cost reduction of the device can be attempted at being attained.

Power transmission device for a four-wheel drive vehicle

A hydraulic pressure-control valve for controlling a pressure to be supplied to a frictional engaging element such as a start clutch in an automatic vehicle transmission, including a first pressure-regulating valve connected to a hydraulic pressure source and connected to the frictional engaging element through a second passage, and a solenoid for displacing the first-pressure-regulating valve. A second pressure-regulating valve is provided and is connected to the first pressure-regulating valve to receive the output hydraulic pressure, the first pressure-regulating and the second pressure-regulating valve are connected such that the output hydraulic pressure varies in response to the command input according to a first characteristic, while the output hydraulic pressure varies in response to the command input according to a second characteristic when the command input exceeds a predetermined value, wherein the output hydraulic pressure according to the first characteristic per unit of command input is less than the output hydraulic pressure according the second characteristic, thereby reducing load hysteresis and improving control accuracy in a low pressure region, while enabling to secure high torque capacity in a high pressure region.

Hydraulic pressure-control valve for automatic vehicle transmission

In a belt type continuously variable transmission, the oil for the canceler oil chamber and the oil for lubricating the endless belt are commonly used to reduce the required amount of oil to be supplied. The gear shift control oil is supplied to the pulley oil chamber of the driven pulley mounted on the output shaft of the belt type continuously variable transmission through a feed pipe, oil holes of a plug, an oil groove, oil holes of the output shaft and oil holes of the movable pulley half. The lubricating oil supplied to a first in-shaft oil chamber of the output shaft is further supplied through the oil holes of the output shaft to the canceler oil chamber of the driven pulley and also from the first in-shaft oil chamber through a throttle in the plug, the second in-shaft oil chamber and the oil holes of the output shaft to the endless belt.
