A mass spectrometry method includes: preparing calibration data for performing calibration on a basis of first data obtained by detecting a chlorobiphenyl in first mass spectrometry of a reference sample of the chlorobiphenyl; acquiring second data obtained by detecting, in second mass spectrometry of a sample, at least one chlorobiphenyl that has a same chlorine number as and is different in kind from the chlorobiphenyl detected in the first mass spectrometry; and calculating a quantitative value for the chlorobiphenyl contained in the sample on a basis of the calibration data and the second data.

A quantitative analysis assistant program that creates a quantitative table showing the relationship of compounds, quantitative values and other related information for each of two data files A and B, and displays on each of the view areas 'a' and 'b'. The analysis operator specifies one compound in one of the quantitative tables. Then, the other quantitative table is automatically searched for a compound having a name identical to the specified compound. A chromatogram, mass spectrum and other related information corresponding to that compound and are based on data file B are displayed on the view area &#x201c;b&#x201d; along with the quantitative table. Then, measurement results corresponding to the compound based on data file A are displayed on view area &#x201c;a&#x201d; along with the quantitative table. A comparison of the measurement or quantitative determination results for the same component can be easily and efficiently performed in a simultaneous multicomponent analysis.

In a simultaneous multicomponent analysis for a number of target compounds, an MRM transition which does not give the highest signal intensity but gives a lower signal intensity is selected for a compound having a high measurement sensitivity or a compound having a high measurement target concentration. If the signal intensity is still high, the level of collision energy (CE) is changed from an optimum level. The MRM transition, CE level and other measurement conditions determined for each compound in this manner are stored in a compound-related information storage. In the process of preparing a control sequence for the simultaneous multicomponent analysis, the measurement conditions stored in the storage sectionare used. The use of those conditions prevents the saturation of the signal for a high-concentration compound while ensuring a sufficiently high level of sensitivity for a low-concentration compound.

Method for simultaneous multicomponent analysis using mass spectrometry and mass spectrometer

A number of analytes are divided into groups based on at least either the elution position determined by silica gel column chromatography under the same condition or the partition ratio in a hexane-acetonitrile partition method. To each group, a compound obtained by labeling one of the compounds in the group by deuterium and/or carbon is assigned as the surrogate. After those surrogates are added as internal standard substances to a standard sample for the creation of calibration curves, a GC/MS analysis for the sample is performed and a calibration curve is created for each analyte. In the measurement of an unknown sample, the same set of surrogates are added to the sample and the GC/MS analysis is performed. A quantitative determination processor determines the quantity of each analyte by comparing a peak area ratio calculated from the analysis result with a calibration curve read from the database.
