A termination system that transmits on a cyclic basis, from a control station to an unmanned vehicle, pairs of mutually dependent code and counter values whose dependency is determined by a termination algorithm. The vehicle has knowledge of the algorithm and can hence validate a received code/counter pair using the same algorithm. If the received code/counter pair is invalid, the vehicle can decide to self-terminate. The control station includes a termination actuator that allows the vehicle to be remotely terminated by invalidating, when actuated by an operator, the code/counter pairs that are transmitted to the vehicle.

A method, control module and system of a vehicle including at least a first and a second control computer each containing a number of local Digital Control Modules and at least one Actuator Control Module wherein the Actuator Control Module of each control computer is operatively connected to all local Digital Control Modules of the same control computer, wherein the Actuator Control Module of each control computer is further operatively connected to all Digital Control Modules of the electrical system in a manner that enables each Actuator Control Module of the system to receive internal data of each Digital Control Module of the electrical system.

A communications method useable to safely communicate a message or a signal from a first safety approved entity to a second safety approved entity via a third, non-safety approved entity including that each command is sent with the aid of a command message from the first to the second entity, an acknowledge message from the second to the first entity, and a go-ahead message from the first to the second entity.

Safe information transmission via non-safety approved equipment

A data bus node, being a control node or a sensor node and being arranged to communicate over a TDMA data bus. The node includes a time signal processing device being configured to define a TDMA time slot transmission schedule for at least the node. A switch is configured to either connect or isolate a transmission path of the node to the bus and is configured to be controlled by the TDMA time slot transmission schedule for the node via a bus transmission access control device. The bus transmission access control device is configured to be further controlled by at least one external control signal via at least one external data transmission link being physically separated from the bus. A fault tolerant data bus system includes such a bus node and an aircraft exploiting the node/system. The babbling idiot problem is solved and at the same time the node/s/system fail silent behavior is enhanced.

Fault tolerant data bus node and system

A fault tolerant data processing system for controlling a real time process. The system is tolerant to systematic faults in its software. The system includes a data processor unit with a program memory and a data memory and input and output units where program software residing in the program memory can be executed on the data processor unit. The system includes a normal-mode software program residing in the program memory, and a backup-mode software program also residing in the program memory arranged to perform the same or similar function of the normal mode software program but being differently implemented than the normal-mode software program, and where a trigger signal received by the data processor unit can switch execution control such that the normal-mode software program stops executing and the backup-mode software program starts executing.

Fault tolerant control system

A system for monitoring a traffic management system, such as an Air Traffic Management (ATM) system, which includes a position retrieval station, operable to retrieve position information for a traffic object, e.g. a radar station devised to collect radar echoes and generate radar image signals. A computer system is connected to the position retrieval station for generating radar trace data from received position information. An operator station is connected to the computer system for processing trace data for presentation. A false position information source is connected to provide artificial information corresponding to a predetermined property of a false traffic object to the computer system. A comparator unit is connected to the operator station for receiving trace data generated from the artificial information, and devised to detect correlation between the generated trace data and the predetermined property of the false traffic object.

A control system for calculating control commands for actuators in an aircraft, wherein the control commands are calculated by computers distributed in the craft in dependence on input signals containing parameters that serve as the basis for said commands, wherein a computer (C) is arranged at each respective local actuator (A) and, together with the actuator (A), forms a servo node (S) where the computer (C) receives input signals via data bus (B), whereby the computer (C) in each servo node (S) calculates control commands for the local actuator (A) based on one or more sets of control laws in dependence on received parameters, and wherein the computer (C) calculates, in a corresponding manner, control commands for at least one additional actuator (A) in another servo node (S), and wherein a choice of control commands is used as the control command () for the actuator (A) locally in each servo node (S) in dependence on a comparison between the control commands () calculated locally in the servo node (S) and a control command () calculated for the actuator (A) in at least one other servo node (S) for the actuator (A).

Control system for actuators in an aircraft

A computer system and method are provided for executing multiple software of different mission-criticality. The computer system includes at least one access control circuit to prevent access to memory assigned to software of greater mission-criticality by software of lesser mission-criticality. The access control circuit is configured to be in a first position allowing access to a first memory for purposes of data retrieval and storage when the greater mission-critical software is executing and in a second position when a lesser mission-critical software is executing, allowing access to a second memory but preventing access to the first memory. The greater mission-critical software is configured to provide control signals to the access control circuit instructing the access control circuit to maneuver to the second position, when necessary, by generating an interrupt.
