A method for measuring a concentration of dibasic acid in a cleaning process substance is provided. The method includes sending a plurality of voltage pulses through the cleaning process substance by each a first electrode and a second electrode. Each the first electrode and the second electrode is in contact with the cleaning process substance containing a concentration of dibasic acid. The method also includes receiving current responses generated by the plurality of voltage pulses, and analyzing the current responses using a multivariate data analysis for calculation of the concentration of dibasic acid in the cleaning process substance. A dibasic acid sensor, a control unit, and an analyzing unit for performing the method, are also provided.

A wet scrubber for cleaning a process gas containing sulphur dioxide comprises an absorption vessel for contacting the process gas with an absorption liquid to absorb sulphur dioxide from the process gas, a sensor for measuring a concentration in the absorption liquid, and a control unit. The control unit is adapted to receive a measurement signal from the sensor and to control, based on the measured concentration, at least one wet scrubber operating parameter influencing the concentration in the absorption liquid.

A wet scrubber () useful for cleaning a process gas comprises at least a first spray level system () and a second spray level system () arranged vertically above the first spray level system () in a wet scrubber tower (). A method and apparatus or system is provided for cleaning a flue gas and/or cooling a flue gas with a dispersed finely divided absorption liquid. As such, the absorption liquid is dispersed in a wet scrubber through which flue gas flows for absorption liquid and flue gas intermingling and contact to produce a cleaned flue gas. The absorption liquid supplied to the wet scrubber is dispersed from upwardly spraying anti-clogging nozzles and downwardly spraying nozzles arranged to maximize absorption liquid and flue gas contact with minimal spray interference between nozzles.

Oxidation control for improved flue gas desulfurization performance

A wet scrubber () and a method of using the wet scrubber to clean a process gas containing sulphur dioxide comprising at least one spray level system () with atomizing nozzles () to which an absorption liquid is supplied for atomization by the nozzles (). The method comprises operating the spray level system () in at least a first operating mode with an active nozzle density of at least 0.7 nozzles/m, an absorption liquid flow of at least 10 m/hour per nozzle and a Total Flow of at least 30 m/hour/m.

A gas sparger () is operative for supplying an oxidation gas containing oxygen to a tank () of a wet scrubber which is operative for removing sulphur dioxide from a process gas by means of a slurry (S). Gas sparger for supplying oxidation gas to a wet scrubber

A wet electrostatic precipitator () includes an inlet () for receiving a gas () containing a pollutant, and an outlet () for discharging therefrom the gas () from which said pollutant has been at least partially removed. Nozzles () are operative for purposes of spraying liquid onto at least one first vertical collecting surface () of at least one collecting electrode (). A liquid distributor () is provided for purposes of pouring liquid onto at least one second vertical collecting surface (), said at least one second vertical collecting surface () being located on a further collecting electrode (), with said further collecting electrode () being located downstream of said at least one collecting electrode (). Wet electrostatic precipitator

A device useful for separating gaseous pollutants, such as sulphur dioxide, from a gas by means of an absorption liquid is disclosed. The device includes a horizontal apertured plate mounted between an inlet and an outlet arranged for passage of a gas containing a gaseous pollutant therethrough. On an upper surface of the horizontal apertured plate is a flowing layer of absorption liquid. The separation of the gaseous pollutant from the gas is adjustable by varying the thickness of the flowing layer of absorption liquid by moving a throttle means to a position that provides the desired amount of resistance to the following layer of absorption liquid.

Bubbling bed reactor and a method of separating a gaseous pollutant from a gas

A device () for separating sulphur dioxide from a gas () by means of an absorption liquid has an inlet () for gas () containing sulphur dioxide, an outlet () for gas (), from which sulphur dioxide has been separated, and as essentially horizontal apertured plate (), which is arranged to allow passage from below of sulphur dioxide containing gas () and to carry, on its upper side (), a flowing layer () of the absorption liquid. An outlet box () beside the apertured plate () is arranged to be passed by liquid, which is distributed in the gas () coming from the inlet (). A first pumping means is arranged to feed a coolant flow to the outlet box () and a second pumping means is arranged to feed an absorption liquid flow, which is essentially independent of the coolant flow, to the apertured plate () to form the flowing layer (). In a method of separating sulphur dioxide, the above-described device () can be used.
