A meshing device which first divides a geometric model into a plurality of regions that can be easily meshed, and then performs meshing on a region-by-region basis. More specifically, the meshing device is a device for generating an analysis mesh model by meshing a geometric model created by a three-dimensional CAD, and includes: a hole extraction unit for extracting a hole formed in the geometric model; a region dividing unit for dividing the geometric model into a plurality of regions by utilizing the hole; and a region-by-region meshing unit for meshing the geometric model on a region-by-region basis. The meshing device is intended to reduce the number of man hours needed for meshing a large and complex geometric model.

According to an aspect of an embodiment, a method comprises a screw fastening unit extracting step of extracting a screw fastening unit, in which at least two or more members are fastened by a screw, from a three-dimensional model, a shape changing step of changing each of circular arc surfaces of the screw, a screw through hole, and a screw hole disposed in the screw fastening unit to a polygonal polyhedron approximating the circular arc surface, a mesh creation step of creating an analysis model which is divided into a meshed analysis unit by allocation of polyhedral meshes along each of the edge surfaces of the screw, screw through hole, and screw hole which is changed to polyhedrons, and a contact definition step of setting the friction of a contact unit of the mesh-divided screw and screw hole to be infinite so as to achieve a fixed state.

In order to efficiently generate mesh data to be used for application of structural analysis to an object formed by uniting a plurality of elements in which data elements are automatically connected without manual operation, an apparatus for generating mesh data includes an edge extracting section for extracting, on the basis of the three-dimensional design data, a pair of edges corresponding to a connection at which two elements are connected to each other when the object is formed; a mesh data generating section for generating, on the basis of the three-dimensional design data, mesh data concerning each of the plural elements; a node extracting section for extracting nodes corresponding one to each of the pair of edges extracted by the edge extracting section from the mesh data; and a node connecting section for connecting the nodes of the pair of edges to each other.
