The charging apparatus includes a converter for, in a charging mode, converting an input alternating current (AC) voltage into a direct current (DC) voltage, and a controller for controlling the converter. The converter includes a motor, and a switching unit for supplying the input AC voltage to the motor by performing a switching operation. The converter also includes an inverter for, in a motor operation mode, converting a DC voltage from a battery into an AC voltage by performing a switching operation of three-phase switching elements and driving the motor. In the charging mode, the inverter operates switching elements of at least one phase of the three-phase switching elements and converts the voltage received from the motor into a predetermined DC voltage.

Charging apparatus and electric vehicle including the same

A charging apparatus and an electric vehicle including the same are disclosed. The charging apparatus includes a converter for, in a charging mode, converting an input alternating current (AC) voltage into a direct current (DC) voltage and a controller for controlling the converter. The converter includes a motor and a switching unit that is connected to an additional coil wound on a stator of one phase of the motor, and that supplies the input AC voltage to the motor by performing a switching operation. The converter also includes an inverter that, in a motor operation mode, converts a DC voltage from a battery into an AC voltage by a switching operation and drives the motor. In the charging mode, the inverter converts the input AC voltage into the DC voltage using the additional coil of the motor and the switching unit and supplies the DC voltage to the battery.

A motor includes two or more sections. Each section includes a submersible tubular housing and a stator core disposed within the housing. The stator core has one or more lobes and each lobe has a winding wrapped therearound. The motor further includes a rotor disposed within the housing and including a shaft and a rotor core. The rotor core has two or more lobes. Each section is incrementally oriented so that the sections may be operated to mimic a multi-phase motor.

Compact cable suspended pumping system for dewatering gas wells

A method of unloading liquid from a reservoir includes deploying a pumping system into a wellbore to a location proximate the reservoir using a cable. The pumping system includes a multi-section motor, an isolation device, and a pump. The method further includes supplying a power signal from the surface to the motor via the cable and sequentially operating each section of the motor to mimic a multi-phase motor, thereby driving the pump and lowering a liquid level in the tubular string to a level proximate the reservoir.

A power transmission system for use with downhole equipment in a borehole includes a power source that is positioned at the surface providing a DC power supply, a downhole DC/DC converter and a two-conductor cable connecting the power source and the downhole DC/DC converter. A housing according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention additionally comprises a spring element arranged so that a spring force brings the gate contact element into pressure contact with the gate electrode and, at substantially the same time, the spring force brings the second terminal of the driver unit into pressure contact with the surface of the first contact element that is located across from the gate electrode.
