A display device includes a flexible display and a support frame. The flexible display includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion there between. The support frame includes a first display support supporting the first portion, a second display support supporting the second portion, and a third display support supporting the third portion. The third display support is connected to the first display support and the second display support. The first display support and the second display support are rotatably connected between a configuration for maintaining the flexible display in a closed position and a configuration for maintaining the flexible display in an open position. The third display support includes a panel movable according to the rotation of the first display support and the second display support, such that the panel contacts the third portion of the flexible display in an open position of the flexible display.

Flexible display with display support

The present document relates to a scanning probe microscopy system and method for mapping nanostructures on the surface of a sample. The system comprises a sample support structure, a scan head including a probe comprising a cantilever and a probe tip, and an actuator for scanning the probe tip relative to the sample surface. The system also includes an optical source, and a sensor unit for obtaining a sensor signal indicative of a position of the probe tip. The sensor unit includes a partially reflecting element for reflecting a reference fraction and for transmitting a sensing fraction of the optical signal. It further includes directional optics for directing the sensing fraction as an optical beam towards the probe tip, and for receiving a reflected fraction thereof to provide a sensed signal. Moreover the sensor includes an interferometer for providing one or more output signals, and signal conveyance optics for conveying the sensed signal and the reference signal to the interferometer. The directional optics is configured for directing the sensing fraction such that at least a part of the sensing fraction is reflected by the probe tip such as to form the reflected fraction.

Scanning probe microscopy system for and method of mapping nanostructures on the surface of a sample

A display system includes a continuous flexible display and two main display supports being hingeable with respect to each other between a closed storage position and a planar configuration for fixing the flexible display in an open position. At least one additional display support supports a segment of the flexible display located between the said respective portions of the flexible display in the open position. This additional display support is movable with respect to the display segment between a non-operational position and a support position when the two main display supports are moved between the storage position and the planar position, such that in the open position substantially the whole surface of the display is supported by the respective display supports.

According to one aspect, the invention provides a device with a flexible display screen. The flexible display screen is rollable around an axis between a rolled-up state and an unrolled state. For stiffening the screen, stiffening elements are attached to the flexible display screen. The stiffening elements are compressible. They are compressed when the display screen is in a rolled-up state, so as to decrease the size of the rolled-up display device. Therefore, the invention strengthens the display, while at the same time retains a reasonable size of the display in the rolled-up state.

Protection of flexible displays

The invention relates to an electronic apparatuscomprising a bodyabout which a collapsible flexible displayis wrapped. In accordance with the invention the bodycomprises an areaon which the flexible display is conceived to overlay in its extended state. This area may be provided with illumination unit for enabling a front illumination of the display in use and/or with a touch-sensitive areafor enabling touch functionality in use.

Electronic apparatus with a flexible display having a body enabling further functionality

An electronic device () is described that comprises a flexible display () with at least two extendable display sections (), each display section being movable to an extended position and supported by an associated hold out mechanism (). The electronic device comprises a further display section () and a main body (), with a window area () supporting part of the display (), in the extended position. The display sections () extend outwardly from the main body () from different sides of the window area () and form one continuous wide screen display panel () with the further section ().
