A wireless communication apparatus stores a plurality of cellular phones in an extension, connects a plurality of cellular phones to a base station, and sets up the communication speed of a communication channel to a base station according to the communication speeds of a plurality of the cellular phones. The wireless communication apparatus maintains the communication speed of a communication channel when a total sum of the speed of the communication which one of the plurality of cellular phones starts and the speed of the communication previously performed is equal to or less than the communication speed of the communication channel. An IMT2000 network stores the wireless communication apparatus and the base station corresponding to a plurality of cellular phones in a location registration database and processes incoming calls to a plurality of cellular phones according to the location registration database. Further, the IMT2000 network performs a location registration to a public network corresponding to a plurality of cellular phones (PHS, PDC).

A fixing apparatus includes a rotary member for thermally fixing a nonfixed image to a recording material, and a mold releasing agent applying device for applying a mold releasing agent to the rotary member. The mold releasing agent applying device has a regulating member contacted with the rotary member to regulate an amount of the mold releasing agent supplied to the rotary member. A holding member is disposed at an upstream side of the regulating member in a rotating direction of the rotary member and is adapted to hold the mold releasing agent. An image forming apparatus has an image forming device for forming an image on a recording material in response to an image on a document. The apparatus also has a glossiness detection device for detecting from the document the level of glossiness of the document image. The image forming device is controlled based on an output from the glossiness detection device. With this construction, the level of glossiness in response to the document image can be reproduced on the recording material, thus improving the quality of reproduced images.

More particularly, a control circuit, which inputs and processes an image signal, estimates the leading and ending edge positions of the recording paper with respect to the transferring direction. The edge which is perpendicular to the transferring direction of the recording paper is determined based on a signal obtained from an ITOP generation circuit and a BD detector. Accordingly, an effective area for image formation on the recording paper is obtained and a modulation amount for adding the predetermined pattern is controlled in accordance with the position on the recording paper at which the predetermined pattern is added.
