An electrical connector is provided including a housing having a receptacle for receiving a wire. A fixed contact is positioned within the housing and has a termination contact configured to electrically couple to a signal path. A moveable contact is electrically coupled to the fixed contact. The moveable contact has a contact interface for engaging the wire. The contact interface is moveable between a connection position, wherein the contact interface engages the wire, and a release position, wherein the contact interface is disengaged from the wire to enable the wire to be removed from the receptacle.

Electrical connector having poke-in wire contact

A light emitting diode (LED) interconnection system is provided. The system includes a cable having a driver end and a termination end. The cable has conductive pathways extending between the driver end and the termination end. The driver end is configured to engage a driver to carry an electrical current to the conductive pathways. The termination end is configured to terminate the conductive pathways. A connector is provided having a cable contact and a LED contact joined to the cable contact. The cable contact pierces the cable and engages the conductive pathways to electrically join the connector to the conductive pathways. A LED board is provided having a circuit board including circuit board contacts. A LED is positioned on the circuit board and electrically joined to the circuit board contacts. The LED contact of the connector engages the circuit board contacts to electrically join the connector to the LED.

Light emitting diode interconnection system

An end cap assembly for a light tube that has a circuit board with one or more solid state lighting devices mounted thereto and a lens covering the circuit board includes an end cap body having a lens engagement surface configured to engage the lens and an external mating interface configured to mate with a socket connector of a fixture. An end cap connector extends from the end cap body. The end cap connector holds contacts having first mating portions configured to be electrically connected to the circuit board and second mating portions configured to be electrically connected to the socket connector.

End cap assembly for a light tube

A connector (10) including a housing (12) and a plurality of terminals (40) extending in respective passageways (30) through the housing (12) from a mating face (14) to a board-mounting face (16) , the terminals (40) having board-mounting sections (60) extending beyond the board-mounting face (16) . Each passageway (30) has a preselected dimension from an outer housing wall (20) to an inner housing wall (26) . Each terminal (40) has a thickness dimension less than the passageway dimension. The board-mounting section (60) and at least a portion of the body section (50) of the terminal (40) adjacent thereto is embossed laterally from the plane of the body section a selected distance. Upon staking the terminals (40) in the respective passageways (30) , the embossed portion (52) of each terminal (40) is disposed adjacent the outer housing wall (20) and the remaining portion of the body section (50) is disposed adjacent an inner housing wall (26) . Thus terminals (40) formed of thin stock are usable with the housing and stakable thereto, while the board-mounting sections thereof remain accurately positioned with terminal-receiving holes (72) of a circuit board (70) .
