A flexible pipe covering having a seam or split along its length is placed over a water or like pipe. The seam is sealed by the use of a pressure sensitive adhesive transfer tape which is factory mounted on one side of the seam and provides a protective sheet that is removed after the flexible pipe covering is mounted in position. Upon removing the protective sheet, the pressure sensitive adhesive will be made to contact both sides of the seam and seal the seam. A similar type of adhesive joint may be formed at the butt end of two adjacent pipes.

A decorative product constructed of polymeric materials is provided wherein the top layer of the product is a film or layer of thermoplastic polymer (e.g., polyvinyl chloride) having a relief pattern on one surface and bonded at its other surface to a base layer of a thermoplastic ethylene interpolymer (e.g., an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer). The product is useful as a floor or wall covering.

A method for making a decorative product is provided which includes forming on a top layer of polymeric material (e.g., polyvinyl chloride) a relief pattern, and bonding said top layer to a base layer of a thermoplastic ethylene interpolymer (e.g., an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer). The product is useful as a floor or wall covering.

Method for making decorative product

A sheet material to be saturated with a fast-reacting saturant, approximately one minute at room temperature, passes under a trough positioned across the travelling web and having a longitudinal slot through its bottom. A threaded rod having a diameter larger than the slot width is laid over the slot in the trough. The fast-reacting saturant is supplied to a traversing dispensing device located above the trough. This traversing device dispenses the saturant into the trough. The threaded rod co-acts with the slot in the bottom of the trough to meter the amount of fast-reacting saturant flowing through the trough and onto the sheet material moving under and contacting the bottom of the trough.
