A method for manufacturing a metallic component including the steps of providing a capsule, which defines at least a portion of the shape of the metallic component, arranging metallic material in the capsule, sealing the capsule, subjecting the capsule to Hot Isostatic Pressing for a predetermined time, at a predetermined pressure and at a predetermined temperature, and optionally, removing the capsule. The metallic material is at least one pre-manufactured coherent body, which pre-manufactured coherent body being made of metallic powder, wherein at least a portion of the metallic powder is consolidated such that the metallic powder is held together into a pre-manufactured coherent body. At least one portion of the pre-manufactured coherent body is manufactured by Additive Manufacturing by subsequently arranging superimposed layers of metallic powder.

A method for manufacturing a component having at least one internal cavity includes the step of providing a core element of metallic material that includes at least one cavity having a first opening covered by a cover element with a first and second side. A form partially surrounds the core element and cover element. The form is filled with metallic filling material and heated in a heating chamber that is pressurized with gas for a predetermined time period at a predetermined temperature and a predetermined isostatic pressure, so that a metallurgical bond is achieved between the core element, cover element and metallic filling material. The core element is arranged such that, after filling the form with metallic filling material, the second side of the cover element is covered with metallic filling material so that the cavity during heating is pressurized to the predetermined isostatic pressure.

The slurry is dried, preferably by spray drying, compacted into bodies of desired shape and sintered. A cemented carbide powder with a reduced compacting pressure at a predetermined weighing in of 18% shrinkage can be obtained by using from about 1 to about 3 wt-% pressing agent with the following composition: less than about 90 wt-% PEG and greater than about 10 wt-% of long chain C&#x2267;20 fatty acids, their esters and salts, in particular, erucic acid and/or behenic acid. The invention also relates to a cemented carbide powder with low compaction pressure.
