Methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices for reconfiguring a wearable device. The methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices may include a first biometric sensor configured to take a first physiological measurement of a user corresponding to a first set of parameters, and wherein the first set of parameters is a first frequency that the first biometric sensor takes the first physiological measurement; a second biometric sensor configured to take a second physiological measurement of the user; and a processing device configured to, in response to receiving the reconfiguration request, reconfigure the first device to: activate the second biometric sensor to take the second physiological measurement; or take the first physiological measurement of the user corresponding to a second set of parameters that are different than the first set of parameters, wherein the second set of parameters is a second frequency that the first biometric sensor takes the first physiological measurement.

Reconfiguration of a wearable medical device

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices for alerting a user of a change in a medical condition. The methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or devices may a first biometric sensor configured to take a first physiological measurement of a user; a second biometric sensor configured to take a second physiological measurement of a user, wherein the first type of physiological measurement is different than the second type of physiological measurement; and a processing device coupled to the first biometric sensor and the second biometric sensor. The processing device is configured to receive the first physiological measurement; determine whether the first physiological measurement includes a biometric marker associated with the user.

Calibration of a wearable medical device

A biometric sensor may be coupled to a portable communications device, such as a cellular telephone. The biometric sensor may be configured to acquire one or more measurements of biological characteristics of an individual. One or more of the measurements may relate to internal, sub-epidermal characteristics of the individual, such as non-volitional processes occurring within the individual, sub-epidermal structures within the individual, or the like. A biometric marker may be derived from one or more of the measurements. The portable communications device may be activated responsive to deriving the biometric marker. The activation may include transmitting the measurements and/or biometric markers derived therefrom to a receiver using the portable communications device.

Systems and methods for securely monitoring an individual

Systems and methods for employing histological and physiological biometric markers that are substantially unique to an individual in order to activate a device, participate in a transaction, or identify himself or herself, wherein at least one biometric marker is obtained by one or more electrical contacts on the surface of the skin. A biometric identification of an individual is obtained by a heartbeat waveform, which is acquired by one or more direct electrical contacts. A mechanism for biometric authentication is used that includes one or more electrodes, an electrical signal receiver, a memory module, and a processing module.

Obtaining biometric identification using a direct electrical contact

A biometrically activated device wherein data derived from detection of unique internal biometric traits are stored within said biometrically activated device to be compared to stored data relative to said internal biometric markers or traits previously scanned from a user of said biometrically activated device. The biometrically activated device may allow or disallow access to information, or provide use of, data or a device protected by the biometrically activated device.

Device using histological and physiological biometric marker for authentication and activation

A portable biometric authentication system having a single technology for measuring multiple, varied biological traits to provide individual authentication based on a combination of biological traits. At least one of these biometric traits is a live physiological trait, such as a heartbeat waveform, that is substantially-but not necessarily completely-unique to the population of individuals. Preferably, at least one of the identifying aspects of the biological traits is derived from a measurement taken by reflecting light off of the subdermal layers of skin tissue.

Method for biometric authentication through layering biometric traits

A plurality of electronic signals corresponding to a histological and/or physiological marker, such as a heartbeat, are obtained, from an individual and are converted into electronic signal form. The signals are measured to obtain an actual measurement of a plurality of variable features of the electronic signals relating to the heartbeats. The measurements are mathematically analyzed to provide the probability of divergence of each actual measurement. Using the calculated probability of divergence, subsequent received waveforms measurements are analyzed for authentication purposes.

Method and apparatus for characterizing and estimating the parameters of histological and physiological biometric markers for authentication

The present invention is directed toward a method for calibrating a biometric authentication device over time. The method of the present invention involves obtaining an authenticating biometric value from a biometric measurement. The biometric value is then weighted and integrated into the authentication data set or template.
