Disclosed herein are tissue treatment products that have been bound to at least one chelating agent. Also disclosed are tissue treatment products that have been functionalized with at least one metal and/or at least one metal-binding protein. The tissue treatment products can have antimicrobial properties and/or factors that promote or enhance native cell migration, proliferation, and/or revascularization after implantation into a subject. Also disclosed are methods of making and using the tissue treatment products. The tissue treatment products can be implanted into a tissue in need of repair, regeneration, healing, treatment, and/or alteration and can promote or enhance native cell migration, proliferation, and/or revascularization.

Functionalized tissue matrices

The present application relates to use of transglutaminases to treat various tissue matrix products. The methods can include application of a transglutaminase to a partially denatured collagen-containing tissue matrix and implantation of the tissue matrix. The transglutaminase can facilitate adhesion with another collagen-containing tissue matrix, tissue surrounding the tissue matrix after implantation, or both.

Tissue matrix materials and enzymatic adhesives

The present disclosure provides a variety of methods and compositions useful for making, sterilizing, and preserving tissues. The disclosure also features the acellular tissue matrices made by the methods.

Method for preparing collagen-based materials

Methods and systems for stiffening of tissue are presented to allow improved processing. Solutions including an acid or a base can be contacted with tissue to stiffen one or more components of the tissue. The resulting stiffened tissue can be used in the creation of wound treatment devices.

Methods and systems for stiffening of tissue for improved processing

Tissue fillers derived from decellularized tissues are provided. The tissue fillers can include acellular tissue matrices that have reduced inflammatory responses when implanted in a body. Also provided are methods of making and therapeutic uses for the tissue fillers.

The invention provides tissue repair compositions and methods of making the tissue repair compositions. Also featured are methods of treatment using the tissue repair compositions and articles of manufacture that include the tissue repair compositions.

Acellular tissue matrix composition for tissue repair

Tissue products lacking a desired percentage of immunogenic epitopes, such as galactose alpha-1,3 galactose epitopes, are provided. Methods of making and using the tissue products are also provided.

Methods of removing alpha-galactose

The present disclosure provides methods for reducing bioburden on a tissue product, as well as the tissue products produced according to the disclosed methods. In particular, the disclosure relates to methods of electroporating tissue in the presence of one or more bactericides in order to reduce bioburden. The methods allow for reduced exposure to electrical energy and/or bactericide while reducing bioburden.

Tissue matrices having anti-microbial properties are provided. In certain embodiments, the tissue matrices include cationic anti-microbial agents that form a stable bond with the tissue matrices without adversely affecting the biologic properties of the tissue matrices.
