A method of controlling a medical fluid therapy machine display brightness includes: performing a medical fluid therapy using the medical fluid therapy machine, the medical fluid therapy machine including a display; sensing an amount of ambient light impinging the display without receiving light directly from the display; controlling a level of backlight brightness for the display based on the amount of ambient light sensed; and displaying information relating to the medical fluid therapy on the display using the controlled level of backlight brightness.

Method of controlling medical fluid therapy machine brightness

A medical therapy machine includes: an enclosure; a medical therapy machine component located inside the enclosure; a video monitor supported by the enclosure and displaying at least one of information and indicia relating to the medical therapy; an ambient light sensor positioned with respect to the enclosure so as to be able to sense a level of ambient light impinging the enclosure; and a logic implementor configured to control a level of backlight brightness for the video monitor based on the level of ambient light sensed by the sensor.

A laser strikes and aseptically heats or sterilizes the end of two flexible tube ends for connection. Tube holders are pushed toward each other to bring the tube ends into contact. A weld detector checks the characteristics of the weld. A laser optics assembly may be used to chance the direction of the lacer and focus the laser at the tube ends.
