A transport refrigeration unit for use with a transport trailer includes a structural framework mountable to a wall of the transport trailer, a condenser heat exchanger unit mounted to the structural framework, an evaporator housing separated from the condenser heat exchanger by a distance, and at least one condenser fan assembly positioned aft of the condenser heat exchanger unit and forward of the evaporator housing. The at least one condenser fan assembly includes a fan rotor defining an inlet end. The fan rotor is rotatable about a fan axis. A casing defines a central opening and the fan rotor is arranged within the central opening. The casing includes a plurality of openings spaced about a periphery of the casing. A portion of an airflow moving through the at least one condenser fan assembly is expelled from the at least one condenser fan assembly radially via the plurality of openings.

A fan for a climate control outdoor unit includes a plurality of airfoils located around a central hub. Each of the airfoils includes a leading edge and a trailing edge opposite the leading edge. A pressure side surface extends between the leading edge and the trailing edge. A suction side surface is opposite the pressure side surface and extends between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The leading edge includes a greatest negative deviation from a radial line of greater than 10% of a span of the airfoil. The greatest negative deviation is located at between 45% and 85% of the span of the airfoil.

A transport refrigeration unit for use with a transport trailer includes a structural framework mountable to a wall of the transport trailer, a condenser heat exchanger unit mounted to the structural framework, an evaporator housing separated from the condenser heat exchanger by a distance, and at least one condenser fan assembly positioned aft of the condenser heat exchanger unit and forward of the evaporator housing. The at least one condenser fan assembly includes a fan casing and a fan rotor rotatable relative to the fan casing about an axis. The fan rotor has a plurality of fan blades. A shroud is coupled to a radially outer end of the plurality of fan blades. The shroud includes an axially oriented protrusion extending from a distal end of the shroud towards the fan casing and a clearance is formed between the protrusion and the casing defining a convoluted flow path.

A fan housing () is provided for accommodating a fan () rotating about a central axis (). The fan housing comprises: an inlet (); a diffuser (); an inner diameter (ID) surface () facing the central axis; and an outer diameter (OD) surface () facing away from the central axis. A fan assembly includes a fan and a fan drive. The fan includes a fan hub located at a fan central axis, and a plurality of fan blades extending outwardly from the fan hub. The fan hub has a fan hub opening at the fan central axis. The fan hub opening is at least partially defined by a plurality of nodes extending radially inwardly toward the fan central axis from the fan hub. The fan drive is installed in the fan hub opening via an interference fit between the plurality of nodes and an outer surface of the fan drive, thus centering the fan drive in the fan hub opening.

Dual condenser fans with center partition

A mobile temperature controlled container having an enclosed indoor section that closes against the one wall of the container. A blower wheel compartment is contained within the housing which has a spiral-shaped lower section that communicates with an upper discharge section. A blower wheel is mounted within the lower section of the compartment and the front of the enclosure is closed by a cover. The cover contains a circular inlet opening adjacent the blower wheel and a rectangular outlet nozzle located adjacent the discharge section of the compartment. The nozzle is arranged to discharge conditioned air into the container and has a vane thereon for optimizing the discharge flow into the container.

Nozzle cover

A mobile temperature controlled container having an air conditioning unit that has an indoor section and an outdoor section. The indoor section includes a housing having a rectangular shaped frame, the front face of which is secured to one wall of the container and a rear wall that is secured to the back of the frame. The rear wall is molded of a suitable plastic and contains a blower wheel compartment and a heat exchanger compartment containing a heat exchanger coil. Both compartments open into the frame and a generous flow path area is provided in the top section of the heat exchanger compartment over the coil so that return air from the container that is drawn into housing can move freely into the blower wheel compartment. The blower wheel compartment is enclosed by a cover having an air inlet opening adjacent the blower wheel and further includes a discharge nozzle that exhausts into the container.

Integrated pod scroll

A fan blade configuration for a radial fan includes support structure for the cantilevered portion of each blade. This support structure is preferably affixed to an upper circumferential ring of the radial fan and extends outwardly therefrom in support of the cantilevered portion of the blade. The support structure preferably extends along the cantilevered portion of the blade for a predefined distance. The distance is preferably expressed relative to a distance to a point at which the leading edge of the blade terminates. The predefined distance is also a function of the downward inclination of the support structure extending along the cantilevered portion. The support structure extends underneath the outer ring so as to define an aligning surface for the rearward portion of the respective fan blade.
