Cleaning apparatus for a convective section of a thermal power plant

A cleaning device includes at least: a holder, a lance having a fluid distribution device, a drive unit for a translational motion of the lance in the holder, and a fluid conducting system having a feed, a return, and flow paths starting from the feed to the return and to the fluid distribution device. At least one actuating means (or actuator) is provided in order to connect the feed to the return or to the fluid distribution device as needed. Furthermore, a method involves cleaning heating surfaces of a convection section of a thermal power plant that includes spaced heat exchanger pipes using such a cleaning device.

A soot blower unit with an axially moved soot blower for the cleaning of heating surfaces of a heat exchanger (1) consists of a lance tube (4) and of a travel carrier (11), which is provided with a track rail (9) and fastened at the wall (2) of the heat exchanger (1). The lance tube (4) is guided at its forward end in a lance tube guide (15) and connected at its rearward end with a blower carriage (7), which is movable on the track rail (9). The vertical spacing of the track rail (9) of the travel carrier (11) from the forward end (h.sub.1) of the lance tube (4) is less than from the rearward end (h.sub.2), which is retained by the blower carriage (7), of the lance tube (4).
