Polyester compositions are the reaction product of a reaction mixture including at least two different diacids, and at least two different diols. At least one diacid or diol has at least one pendant ethylenically unsaturated group, and at least one diacid or diol has at least one pendant ionic group. The polyester composition has a glass transition temperature in a range of −60° C. to 12° C., and is a vibration-damping, pressure sensitive adhesive.

Ionomeric polyester-based pressure sensitive adhesives

A dental appliance for positioning a patient's teeth includes a polymeric shell with a plurality of cavities for receiving one or more teeth. The polymeric shell includes at least 3 alternating polymeric layers AB, wherein layer A includes a thermoplastic polymer A, layer B includes a thermoplastic polymer B, and the thermoplastic polymer B is different from the thermoplastic polymer A. Each of the thermoplastic polymers A and B have a flexural modulus of about 1.0 GPa to about 4.0 GPa; and each of the thermoplastic polymers A and B have a glass transition temperature (T) greater than about 40° C.

Multi-layered dental appliance

An article includes a substrate having a circuit forming surface and a non-circuit forming surface opposite the circuit forming surface. The article further includes a protective tape borne on the circuit forming surface. The protective tape includes a support layer and a curable adhesive layer borne on a major surface of the support layer. The curable adhesive layer includes a rubber elastomer and a thermal curing agent.

Protective tapes, articles therefrom, and methods of making and using same

A substrate including a self-supporting tri-layer stack is described. The tri-layer stack includes first and second outer layers and a biaxially oriented layer disposed between and in direct contact with the first and second outer layers. The biaxially oriented layer may include a first polyester having greater than 45 mole percent naphthalate units and greater than 45 mole percent ethylene units. Each of the first and second outer layers includes a second polyester which may include 40 to 50 mole percent naphthalate units, at least 25 mole percent ethylene units, and 10 to 25 mole percent of branched or cyclic C4-C10 alkyl units.

Substrate including a self-supporting tri-layer stack

Infrared reflectors are described. In particular, infrared reflectors with reduced off-axis color are described. Such infrared reflectors may be useful in laminated glass constructions, particularly for applications where the glass may be exposed to water.

High efficiency infrared reflector having reduced color

Hot melt processable adhesive compositions to mask electronic components include at least one block copolymer, at least one tackifying resin, at least one semi-crystalline polyolefin polymer, at least one plasticizer, and at least one anti-oxidant. The adhesive composition is a hot melt processable pressure sensitive adhesive composition that is thermally stable, such that the composition when disposed on a surface withstands heating to 260&#xb0; C. without degradation or flowing, remains optically transparent, and after heating to 260&#xb0; C. remains cleanly removable.

High temperature resistant masking adhesive composition

A retarder including first and second outer layers and a birefringent layer disposed between and in direct contact with the first and second outer layers is described. The birefringent layer may include a first polyester having greater than 45 mole percent naphthalate units and greater than 45 mole percent ethylene units. Each of the first and second outer layers includes a second polyester which may include 40 to 50 mole percent naphthalate units, at least 25 mole percent ethylene units, and 10 to 25 mole percent of branched or cyclic C4-C10 alkyl units. The retarder has a retardance in a range of 1 micrometer to 100 micrometers.

Retarder

Adhesives including a polyester at 20 to 50 weight percent, a first tackifier at 30 to 60 weight percent, and a first olefin-styrene block copolymer at 5 to 30 weight percent are described. The polyester has a glass transition temperature between &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. and &#x2212;10&#xb0; C., and the adhesive has a heat activation temperature between 20&#xb0; C. and 100&#xb0; C. Damping films including at least one layer of the adhesive and including a foamed layer are described. The foamed layer includes a second olefin-styrene block copolymer at 30 to 80 weight percent and a second tackifier at 15 to 60 weight percent.

Polyester pressure-sensitive adhesives are described. The polyester includes at least two different diacid residues and at least two different diol residues. The polyester includes at least one pendant group containing an alkenyl group. A ratio of a total number of the at least one pendant group to the total number of ester groups in the polyester is in a range of 0.001 to 0.1. The polyester has a glass transition temperature in a range of &#x2212;50&#xb0; C. to &#x2212;10&#xb0; C.

Impact-resistant polyester pressure-sensitive adhesive

A method of using hardenable dental articles. The method can include placing a film () onto a dental structure () to cover at least a portion of the dental structure (); providing a hardenable dental article (); and applying the hardenable dental article () to the dental structure () covered by the film ().

Methods of using hardenable dental articles

A polyester including at least one crosslinkable moiety is described. Each crosslinkable moiety includes at least one crosslinkable pendent group. A ratio of a total number of the at least one crosslinkable pendent groups to a total number of ester groups in the polyester may be in a range of 0.0001 to 0.5.

Polyester compositions

Substrates suitable for use in a touch sensor are described. In some cases, the substrates include an inner layer and first and second heat-set polymeric outer layers. The first and second outer layers each have an in-plane birefringence of less than 0.1. The inner layer is substantially uniaxially birefringent and has an in-plane birefringence greater than 0.01. In some cases, a substrate includes a block copolymer which includes a first polyester and second polyester. The first polyester has a melting point greater than 200 &#xb0; C., and the second polyester having a melting point less than 200&#xb0; C. The block copolymer includes the second polyester at 50 to 80 percent by weight. The substrate is substantially uniaxially birefringent and has an in-plane birefringence between 0.001 and 0.1.

Substrate for touch sensor

Polyester pressure-sensitive adhesives are described. The polyester includes at least two different diacid residues and at least two different diol residues. The at least two different diacid residues include, based on the total moles of the at least two diacid residues, 20 to 80 mole percent of a residue of at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and 20 to 80 mole percent of at least one of a residue of adipic acid or sebacic acid. The polyesters may include at least one pendant group containing an alkenyl group.

Chemical-resistant polyester pressure-sensitive adhesive

A self-adhering tape is described comprising a substrate layer having a first major surface and opposing major surface; an adhesive layer disposed on the first major surface of the polyolefin substrate, the adhesive layer comprising a polyolefin polymer and optionally further comprising a tackifying resin; an outer layer disposed on the opposing major surface of the polyolefin substrate, the outer layer comprising a polymer comprising at least 50 wt-% C-Calkylene and at least 20 wt-% C-C&#x3b1;-olefin. The self-adhering tape is suitable for use as a grip tape or an electrical tape. Methods of making and using the tape are also described.
