Methods, computer-readable media, and systems for automated quantification of the impact of software code reuse are disclosed. A method performed by a processing system including at least one processor includes estimating an amount of a piece of source code that comprises reused code, estimating a resource cost associated with a development of the piece of source code, estimating an amount of resources saved by using the reused code in the piece of source code, based on the resource cost and the amount of the piece of source code that comprises the reused code, and initiating a modification to the piece of source code in response to the amount of resources saved.

Quantifying the impact of software code reuse

A method includes generating a bill of materials for a piece of source code, where the piece of source code comprises a plurality of lines of code, providing the bill of materials to a knowledge base with a request for known call signatures, receiving, from the knowledge base, a list comprising a plurality of known call signatures and a plurality of reuse estimates, wherein each reuse estimate of the plurality of reuse estimates indicates an estimate of a number of lines of reused code associated with one call signature of the plurality of known call signatures, generating an initial calculation of a number of lines of reused code that are present in the piece of source code, using the list comprising the plurality of known call signatures, and generating a report indicating an amount of the source code that comprises reused code, based on at least the initial calculation.

Playlists comprising media objects can be modified by adding personalized supplemental media objects that can provide a customized entertainment experience. As an example, an application can overlay a playlist on a consumer's device and can call a user-configurable rules engine that can select a supplemental media object (e.g., a pre-recorded and/or dynamically synthesized media file) that is to be played with the media objects. In one example, the supplemental media object can be associated with a user-selected voice personality and can be streamed from a network storage device via a communication network coupled to the consumer device.

Time-varying passwords for user authentication are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein for password generation include obtaining a base password including characters, determining a first character position of the base password at which a first time-varying data element is to be inserted to determine a time-varying password, the first time-varying data element to be computed based on a time-varying parameter, and determining a first offset to be applied to a value of the time-varying parameter to compute the first time-varying data element. Example methods disclosed herein for password evaluation include accessing a base password including characters, applying a first offset to a value of a time-varying parameter to determine a first time-varying data element to be inserted at a first character position of the base password to determine a time-varying password, and comparing the time-varying password with an input password to perform authentication based on the input password.

The method also includes verifying compliance of the process by applying business rules to the data, and notifying an entity of any non-compliance identified from the verification.
