A precision cutting tool for removing the excess wax wall of a pillar styled candle includes a ring configured to encircle the candle and a handle extending from the ring. The handle includes an extendible and retractable cutting element. The cutting element may be extended into the circle defined by the interior circumference of the ring in a gradual manner. The tool includes a recess for the cutting element to be retained when the tool is not in use. The interior of the handle includes a cutting element mover configured to cause linear movement of the cutting element into and partially out of the recess. When the mover is actuated in a direction that results in movement of the cutting element out of the recess, the cutting element extends partially into the candle located in the interior circle established by the ring. The candle or the tool may then be rotated to cause cutting into the candle wall until the excess wax wall can be removed.

Precision cutting tool for cutting or trimming pillar candles

A method for making fire retardant material including fire retardant cellulosic insulation is described. The method includes an arrangement for adding one or more feedstocks and a fire retardancy chemical compound to a common blend tank prior to feedstock drying. The one or more feedstocks may include at least one virgin pulp stock feed and at least one recycled material stock feed. The amount and type of both the virgin feedstock and the recycled material feedstock is selectable. Old newsprint (ONP) may be one type of recycled material feedstock. Another suitable type of recycled material feedstock is old corrugated containers (OCC). The method further includes retaining the fiber feedstock and the chemical compound together for enough time to ensure adherence or impregnations of enough of the chemical to the fibers after the drying process. Fluffing or fiberizing of the treated fibers may be accomplished under less severe conditions than ordinarily employed when making conventional cellulose insulation.

Method for making fire retardant materials and related products

A method and apparatus for providing rotation to a portion of a loop of rope by which an individual can jump rope alone, and without holding the rope, and in which the rope loops near the ground so that a jumper may jump over it, then rotate over the head of the jumper for another passage close to the ground, wherein a feature is a method for adjusting small weights on the rope to alter the characteristics of the loop; and safety provisions are made so that the rope will not become entangled with the user and cause injury. The apparatus comprises a stand with a fixed swivel arrangement to hold one end of a rope and a rotating device for the other end of the rope to cause the rotating motion of the loop and an adjustment can be made to accommodate different configurations of the loop as it passes beneath the jumpers feet and over the jumpers head.
