One of two actuator arms is responsive to a sharp drop in a step of a cam means, the arm engaging the bottom of the step to limit its travel. A striker carried by the arm continues in the direction of the drop to engage an alarm means.

Timing mechanism with two separate programs operating separate switch

A coil bobbin includes a spindle, a terminal retaining flange and a second flange extending from opposed ends of the spindle between which a coil of wire is wound. The terminal retaining flange includes two diametrically opposed slots which receive electrical terminals, one of the slots serving as a starting place for the wire.

Coil assembly

A free-floating shorting bar carries electrical contacts at opposed ends thereof. The shorting bar is actuated to open and close mating electrical contacts by a pair of axially indexable shafts in a manner whereby three electrical contact conditions are provided: (1) With both shafts indexed 'out' a first set of contacts is closed and a second set is opened; (2) With both shafts indexed 'in' the first set is open and the second set closed; and (3) When one shaft is indexed 'out' and one 'in', both sets of contacts are closed.

Timer switch module

There is disclosed a timing mechanism utilizing a digital interval timer composed of rotating drum wheels each having a cam to close electrical switches to provide a program sequence. Cam followers are constructed and arranged so that when they drop in notches of the cams the drum wheels can be rotated in either direction. An auxiliary program is provided by a slideable drum shaped helical cam that actuates a cam follower. The drum shaped helical cam is manually axially set to provide a desired program. Both the drum shaped helical cam and the drum wheels are power driven from the same source. The timing mechanism is packaged in a cup shaped housing having individual ribs in its side-walls to receive a frame carrying the drum wheels and the drum shaped helical cam.

Timing mechanism

First and second movable spring contact blades are disposed in substantially parallel relation and have substantially equal lengths with electrical contacts disposed near their distal ends. A third spring contact blade having electrical contacts at its distal end is fixedly disposed between the first two blades and has a shorter length than the two blades to provide a gap between the first two. The electrical contacts are in line with and facing each other at a distance just short of the gap. The combination of the electrical contacts provides a double pole switch means. Two independently operable actuator arms enter the gap to selectively engage the first and second spring contact blades to selectively open and close the electrical contacts. The two actuator arms in combination with the electrical contacts provide a program of a short pulsing duration within a longer program. There is a selector means which permits the actuator arm for the shorter duration to be operably removed from the system. One of the two actuator arms is responsive to a sharp drop in a step of a cam means, the arm engaging the bottom of the step to limit its travel. A striker carried by the arm continues in the direction of the drop to engage an alarm means.
