A hydraulic shock absorber has an adjustable connection to the exercise lever to provide variable resistive forces to exercise, and alternately the shock can be mounted to the exercise lever as a dead weight and a pulley-cord system added, so that a multiplicity of exercises can be performed with the same basic unit.

4.times.8 Plywood sections are interconnected by a system of tabs and latches, and a spring suspension system is provided beneath the interconnected sections.

Exercise floor

The invention relates to a gymnastic balance beam of extruded aluminum with a bottom and end closures. The beam is of a general U-shape with the bottom plates secured to a flanged portion of the beam. The beam can be selectively covered with padding if desired.

The vaulting board has leaf springs with rollers at their opposite ends, and the effective length of the leaf springs can be changed by changing the roller spacing.
