A biasing device for an exercising machine is provided where one end of the biasing device is removably disposed on a lever arm of the exercising machine and the opposite end of the biasing device is disposed on a fixed support member of the exercising machine. The biasing device provides resistance to the movement of the lever arm in the plane of motion wherein the biasing device comprises at least one elastomeric band and a containing device to provide a bight on the ends of the biasing device for disposing on the respective portions of the machine. The biasing device may also have end members or a support placed within the bights. The biasing device, the containing device and the end members or the support may be initially separate and separable such that in the event of damage to any one of said devices it may readily be replaced with another such elastomeric band.

A hose construction for conveying water under pressure, a stem therefor and methods of making the same are provided, the hose construction comprising a flexible tubular hose having opposed ends, a metallic stem having opposed ends and having one of the ends thereof disposed in one of the ends of the hose, and a metallic tubular ferrule telescoped on the one end of the hose and being radially inwardly crimped toward the stem to compress the end of the hose between the ferrule and the stem, the one end of the stem having a plurality of annular spaced apart projections thereon and respectively having external peripheral surfaces embedded into the one end of the hose, the stem having an opening passing therethrough and defining an internal peripheral surface thereof, the one end of the stem terminating at an end edge thereof that is defined by the internal peripheral surface joining with the external peripheral surface of an adjacent annular projection the end edge defining a relatively large rounded end part on the stem that prevents the end part of the stem from being razored by water flow and from cutting into the hose when the hose is being bent relative to the stem adjacent the end part thereof.

Wall systems are disclosed which employ a plurality of individual panels formed of extruded polymeric material joined in edge-to-edge relation including wale members which are vertically offset and interlocked at end portions thereof with adjacent wale members. The wall systems include connector elements for joining and interlocking the adjacent panel edges, and panels are disclosed, each having a continuous convex surface between their opposite side edges and strengthening ribs formed on a concave surface disposed opposite the convex surface thereof. A revetment system is disclosed in which a pair of wall sections are positioned in facing spaced-apart relation and joined by tie bolts extending through the wale members, to receive concrete therebetween.
