A mask for use in providing a flow of a treatment gas to the airway of a user. The mask includes a frame and a conformable seal which is structured to sealingly engage about at least one of at least a portion of nose or mouth of the user. The frame includes a front face and a concave shaped rear face which faces the user when the mask is disposed on the user's face. The rear face defines a cavity which is structured to receive at least one of a portion of a nose and/or mouth of the user therein. The frame also includes a number of deformable zones, each deformable zone being structured to receive a removable insert. Each deformable zone is structured to adapt to at least one of a size or shape of the removable insert received therein.

Customizable mask and method of sizing

A mask for communicating a flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The mask includes a patient interface having a faceplate and a cushion. The cushion has a first end coupled to the faceplate and an opposite second end for sealingly engaging a portion of the patient's face about one or more airways of the patient. A frame includes a first arm member having a first end coupled to the patient interface via a first coupling arrangement and an opposite second end coupleable to a headgear, and a second arm member having a first end selectively coupled to the patient interface via a second coupling arrangement and an opposite second end coupleable to the headgear. The second coupling arrangement requires a lessor uncoupling force to uncouple than the first coupling arrangement.

A tubing assembly for use with a patient interface device includes a manifold portion structured to be coupled to a conduit carrying a flow of breathing gas and a number of tubular portions. Each tubular portion extends from the manifold portion to a distal end which is structured to be coupled to the patient interface device. Each tubular portion is structured to communicate the flow of breathing gas from the manifold portion to the patient interface device. Each tubular portion comprises an adjustment element which provides for a characteristic of the tubular portion to be selectively varied.

A patient interface for use in delivering a flow of a breathing gas to an airway of a patient includes a body that defines a cavity therein that is structured to receive the flow of breathing gas. A first aperture defined in the body is positioned and structured to communicate the flow of breathing gas from the cavity to an airway of the patient. A second aperture defined in the body is sized and configured to provide a pathway between the cavity and an ambient environment in which the body is disposed. The patient interface further includes a restrictor element that is selectively coupled to the body. The restrictor element includes a blocking portion that obstructs at least a portion of the second aperture.
