A control system is configured to control a transmission system (). The control system may be configured to, responsive to the occurrence of a condition for the transmission system () to exit a sleep state (S), trigger the transmission system () to transition from the sleep state (S) to an active state (A). The control system may be further configured to control the transmission system () to transmit during at least a fraction of a transition period (P) over which the transmission system () transitions from the sleep state (S) to the active state (A). Such control may for instance control the transmission system () to transmit, during the at least a fraction of the transition period (P), in compliance with relaxed component performance requirements that are relaxed with respect to the component performance requirements with which the transmission system () is configured to transmit during the active state (A).

Transmission system control

A technique for receiving () a radio quality report over a secondary connection, which is different from the primary connection between a first device and a second device, to which the radio quality report relates, is described. As to a method aspect of the technique, a transmission (), to the second device, of a control message indicative of configuring the second device with reporting a radio quality report over a secondary connection that is different from a primary connection between the first device and the second device is performed. A transmission (), to the second device over the primary connection, of at least one reference signal, RS, is subsequently performed, followed by a reception (), from the second device over the secondary connection, of the radio quality report that is indicative of a radio quality of the primary connection based on the at least one RS. Hereinafter, a transmission (), based on the radio quality report, is performed of at least one of a second control message and data from the first device over the primary connection to the second device.

Technique for communicating a radio quality report

The disclosure provides a methodfor sector selection performed in a communication systemproviding wireless communication to a communication device. The communication systemis configured for shared cell deployment, the shared cellcomprising at least two sectors. The communication system () is configured for link adaptation of a radio link between the communication device and the shared cell. The methodcomprises: selecting, for the communication device, a set of sectorsfor use in downlink transmissions to the communication device; determining, for the communication device, a link adaptation parameter value relating to the link adaptation; adapting, for a link adaptation parameter value that is higher than a threshold value, the set of sectors by adding a sector. The disclosure provides corresponding system, computer program and computer program products.

Method and network node for sector selection

The invention relates to a network node and a method therein for admission control in a wireless communication system. The method comprises receiving a request for a bearer setup from a requesting entity, where the request and/or bearer is associated with a priority level P. The method further comprises obtaining, e.g. receiving or retrieving, reports indicating a priority blocking level, BLi, per monitored system resource, i, needed for setting up a bearer. The method further comprises determining a general priority blocking level BLG, based on the reports. Further, the method comprises deciding whether to accept or reject the request for a bearer setup based on the priority level P and the general priority blocking level BLG.

Method and arrangement for admission control based on priority level based differentiation

One or more embodiments herein dynamically and objectively estimate user-perceived quality of an encoded video stream in dependence on the underlying video content of that stream. Estimation processing according to these embodiments includes generating a chronological sequence of the absolute or relative sizes of encoded video frames in the stream. Processing further entails analyzing this sequence to identify a plurality of reference characteristics that are defined in a reference model. These reference characteristics are more specifically defined in the reference model as parameters that characterize or are otherwise associated with content-dependent variations in user-perceived quality. For example, the reference characteristics in some embodiments comprise reference patterns or reference statistical measures that have been determined based on analyzing frame size sequences generated for reference video streams with known qualities. Regardless, processing finally includes estimating the user-perceived quality of the stream based on the identified reference characteristics, according to the reference model.
