Embodiments described herein provide a method for identifying at least one quotation from a text content source and selecting at least one of the identified quotations for prominent display on a presentation. In one embodiment, the presentation that displays the selected quotation is a webpage viewable over the Internet.

System and method for displaying quotations

A plurality of content items are retrieved from multiple network sites. Content from each content item is programmatically analyzed in order to associate that content item with one or more categories. The one or more categories may be part of a larger set of predefined categories. A network page is assigned to one or more corresponding categories in the set of predefined categories. At least some content is provided on the network page using one or more content items that were associated with the one or more categories assigned to that network page.

System and method for automating categorization and aggregation of content from network sites

A visitor of a network site is provided information about previously viewed content from that site. One or more internal pages of the network site that the user selects to view during one or more visits to the network site is recorded. At least one of the one or more internal pages is associated with a heading or category that is displayed on the network site. A user-activity is detected corresponding to the visitor directing attention to the heading or category. In response, a dynamic display is generated that provides a link to the at least one internal page that is associated with the category or heading.

Embodiments provide for the creation of network pages or presentations that include pages on which programmatically selected/categorized content and manually-identified content from website users may be combined and displayed.

System and method for presenting categorized content on a site using programmatic and manual selection of content items

One or more pictures may be selected for use with a text item, such as an article (news story, blog entry, online magazine) or post (e.g. informal blog entry). Pictures may be selected from a library, such as a collection of stock photographs. Stock photographs are pictures that are available for purchase and use. Information about the content of the picture may be identified. The text item that is to be supplied the picture may be also be analyzed in its content. A given picture from the collection is then programmatically selected based on the identified information about the picture and the text item. A presentation may be created based on the text item and the given picture that is selected.
