The present invention provides a system and method of adjusting an electronic device display based on eyewear properties. Eyewear properties such as tint level, tint shade, and polarization are obtained from eyewear, a database, or manual entry. The device display is then adjusted based on the eyewear properties to facilitate viewability of the electronic display for the user while wearing the eyewear.

A method for generating and presenting accessibility resolution models to accessibility problems is provided. The method may include detecting user behavior patterns associated with users. The method may further include generating user groups and subgroups based on the detected user behavior patterns. Additionally, the method may include identifying accessibility problems based on the detected user behavior patterns and the generated user groups and subgroups. The method may also include generating accessibility profiles based on the detected user behavior patterns, the generated user groups and subgroups, and the identified accessibility problems. The method may further include determining correlations between the generated accessibility profiles and business loss indicators. The method may also include generating and presenting accessibility resolution models to the identified accessibility problems based on the detected user behavior patterns, the generated user groups and subgroups, and the determined correlations between the generated accessibility profiles and business loss indicators.

According to embodiments of the present invention, machines, systems, computer-implemented methods and computer program products for mimicking a presence notification to optimize utilization of computing resources of a system comprising a plurality of virtual components and a virtual component manager are provided. Using the virtual component manager, one or more components that are each performing functions limited to providing a presence notification may be detected. The detected one or more components may be suspended, and the presence notifications for each suspended component may be generated and transmitted by the virtual component manager. Suspending a component that is solely providing a presence notification frees up resources that may be utilized for another component performing computational work.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for document content re-ordering for assistive technology processing. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for document content re-ordering for assistive technology processing is provided. The method includes sensing in a computer display a drawing of a path across different portions of displayed content in the computer display. Thereafter, a sequence of the different portions of the displayed content can be identified from the path. As such, meta-data indicative of the sequence can be generated in the memory of the computer and the content can be annotated with the generated meta-data. Finally, the portions of the content can be processed with assistive technology in an order dictated by the sequence.

A method of geospatial guidance for sight impaired users includes receiving, by a computer system, a user selection of a geospatial area. The computer system further receives a user selection of a point of interest criteria. The method includes finding, by the computer system, in a database that includes geospatial points of interest, those geospatial points of interest that match the user selected criteria and that are in the user selected geospatial area. The computer system determines a reference location in the user selected geospatial area and distance and direction from each of the found points of interest to the reference location. The computer system presents sets of information, to the user, wherein each set includes a description of one of the found points of interest together with distance and direction between the reference location and the one of the found points of interest.

Methods, systems, and computer program products relate to recommending settings include collecting operating parameter and usage condition data for a plurality of electronic devices from one or more databases, analyzing the data to create a predictive model to estimate predicted operating parameters based on usage conditions, applying current device usage conditions from a current device to the predictive model to determine recommended device settings, and changing current device settings based on the recommended device settings.

A user is assisted in a real-world environment. An assistance engine receives at least one context from the user. The assistance engine also receives a video stream of the real-world environment. The assistance engine performs an optical character recognition process on the video stream based upon the at least one context. The assistance engine generates a response for the user. A microphone on a head-mounted device receives the context from the user. A camera on the head-mounted device captures the video stream of the real-world environment. A speaker on the head-mounted device communicates the response to the user. The user may move in the real-world environment based upon the response to improve the optical character recognition process.

A method includes a computer creating scene description templates; the computer creating people profiles; analyzing video frames of a video to identify visual elements containing scenes and people; generating timelines for the identified visual elements; matching the identified visual elements with the scene description templates and the people profiles; and combining the matched identified visual elements and the timelines into the video.

A copyright server receives a copyright request from a requester, such as a portal server. The copyright request corresponds to a user requesting a particular content to be transcoded. The copyright server identifies content copyright permissions associated with the requested content that indicate whether it is permissible to transcode the requested content. If the copyright server does not locate content copyright permissions associated with the requested content, the copyright server identifies the owner of the content and sends a message to the content owner requesting content copyright permission. The copyright server receives a response from the content owner, stores the response on a local storage area, and forwards the response to the requester. The content copyright permissions may include an amount of a transcoding fee that the content owner requires in order to transcode the requested content.

A mechanism is provided for enforcing accessible content development. The mechanism enforces accessible content development by accessing a tag library descriptor for each of a plurality of markup tags for web content authoring where the tag library descriptor notes one or more tag sub-elements required for accessibility. The mechanism analyzes each markup tag in a piece of web content by comparing the tag library descriptor accessibility requirements to sub-elements included with each markup tag to determine whether all required accessibility sub-elements are present. The mechanism generates an error message if all required accessibility sub-elements of a markup tag are not present.

Enforcing accessible content development

Accessibility insurance coverage management is provided. An insurance server receives a coverage request from a requester that includes a user identifier corresponding to a user (i.e. policyholder). The insurance server matches the user identifier with a stored policyholder identifier and retrieves accessibility data corresponding to the matched policyholder identifier. If required, the insurance server updates the policyholder's accessibility data by receiving accessibility data from an accessibility database server. The insurance server identifies the policyholder's coverage using the user's accessibility data along with the user's policy information. The insurance server sends a message to the requester which indicates an amount of the particular item corresponding to the coverage request the insurance server covers. The insurance server receives accessibility service bills on a frequent basis, such as monthly. The insurance server verifies the billing information, pays the bill, and updates policyholder claims paid to date information.

A method, computer program product, and a data processing system for recognizing and correcting dyslexia-related spelling errors is provided. A word is received for evaluation of a dyslexia-related misspelling. The received word is compared with a plurality of dyslexia variants, and a match between the received word and a dyslexia variant is identified. An error rate at which dyslexia-related misspelled words are received is compared with a threshold, and the read word is evaluated as one of a correctly spelled word and a dyslexia-related misspelling of a word.
