A device and a method for the control of a generator, for example a claw-pole generator, with which the rectifier bridge connected to the generator can be temporarily short-circuited, as a result of which power is temporarily stored in the stator inductors, which results in higher phase voltages. Suitable selection of the control frequency for a transistor, which makes the short-circuiting of the diode bridge possible, allows an output voltage of the generator to be set to the desired voltage level which is clearly higher than the conventional vehicle electrical system voltage. The diode bridge itself can be replaced by controllable switching elements (transistors) and a voltage adjustment is implemented using suitable controls.

Device and method for controlling a generator

A method for turning various classes of loads on and off by means of switch elements in the context of energy management performed by a control unit, particularly in a motor vehicle, is described, in which the triggering of the switch elements is done such that the selected priorities for triggering the switch elements can be varied during operation, that is, dynamically. This enables an adaptation of the switching priorities during ongoing operation as a function of the operating state. The turn-off of loads is done by varying the switching priority in such a way that the perceptibility of the operating states is suppressed as much as possible, and the priorities can also be varied in accordance with person-specific criteria.

A method for optimized power and efficiency regulation of rotary current generators with an associated converter bridge, in particular synchronous machines, is described in which at least three regulation ranges are defined, within which ranges the regulation of the generator takes place by different criteria. The definition of the regulation ranges is done in particular as a function of rpm and as a function of the desired set-point power. The regulation extends both to the exciter current and to the stator current and is done by means of various regulators that exchange information with one another.

Method for the optimized control in terms of output and efficiency of synchronous machines

An electrical voltage supply system includes an alternator having phase windings, it being possible to connect the alternator to a battery, and which is part of a first vehicle electrical system. The output of the alternator leads via a rectifier bridge and a voltage transformer operating as a step-up transformer to a second vehicle electrical system which has a markedly higher voltage and has usually no battery. To supply voltage to the loads of the vehicle electrical system which is operated at a higher voltage even during a standstill of the alternator, the alternator is then connected to the battery of the vehicle electrical system, and the higher voltage is obtained with the assistance of the step-up transformer, the step-up transformer operating in such a manner that is uses the alternator inductance as a choke.

Electrical voltage supply system

Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for controlled parallel operation of direct current converters, particularly in a multi voltage vehicle electrical system, with two voltage ranges (U,) and (U,). The parallel-connected voltage converters are disposed between the voltage ranges; in this connection, only one of the voltage converters is embodied as an active voltage regulator that functions all the time. The other (n&minus;1) converters function either in full load operation or no load operation depending on the required power demand.

Device and method for controlled parallel operation of direct current converters

A method for regulating a generator is described in which the rectified output voltage furnished by the generator is converted, under certain preconditions, with the aid of a direct voltage converter. The generator can be operated either in a free operating mode or a regulated operating mode. If the generator voltage output in the particular operating state is not equivalent to the on-board electrical voltage, then the generator voltage is either raised or lowered with the aid of the voltage converter.
