A theatre light projector including a housing, a plurality of light sources, a first aperture device and a lens system. The lens system may include a first lens sector and a second lens sector, each of which may have a positive spherical optical power. The first lens sector may have a first radii, and the second lens sector may have a second radii, wherein the first radii and the second radii are substantially parallel to each other. The first aperture device may be comprised of a first aperture comprised of a color filter and/or a pattern. The plurality of light sources may be comprised of a first light source and a second light source and each may be comprised of a white solid state light source, which may be a light emitting diode. The white solid state light source may be a laser diode.

Theatre light projector incorporating a plurality of light sources and improvements to blending the light output

A theatrical lighting apparatus including a plurality of light sources including a first light source and a second light source; and a plurality of reflector segments including first and second reflector segments; wherein the plurality of light sources are centrally located between the plurality of reflector segments; wherein each of the plurality of reflector segments has a focal point; wherein the first light source is located approximately the focal point of the first reflector segment; and wherein the second light source is located approximately the focal point of the second reflector segment. The plurality of light sources may include at least one white light emitting diode light source. The plurality of light sources may be fixed to a single heat exchanger centrally located between the plurality of reflector segments. The heat exchanger may be configured to be moved relative to the plurality of reflector segments by an actuator.

Theatrical strobe apparatus and light sources with optimized focus thereof

A theatre lighting apparatus including a base housing; and a lamp housing; wherein the lamp housing is remotely positioned in relation to the base housing by a motor; and wherein the lamp housing is comprised of a plurality of light sources and a plurality of lenses. Each of the plurality of lenses has a first surface and a second surface; each second surface of each of the plurality of lenses has an inner portion and a perimeter portion; and wherein the inner portion of each of the plurality of lenses is substantially more polished, and substantially less diffuse that the corresponding perimeter portion of each of the plurality of lenses so that light is transmitted in a substantially uniform direction through the inner portion of each of the plurality of lenses and light is transmitted in a scattered manner through the perimeter portion of each of the plurality of lenses.

Multicell theatrical light incorporating a plurality of diffuse aureoles

An apparatus for a theatrical lighting instrument including a light source, which emits light in a light path; a lens located in the light path, and which receives light from the light source and projects light from the light source; a computer memory; and a computer processor. The apparatus may also include first pluralities and second pluralities of cyan, magenta and yellow color filters, each filter including a variable density color filter operated upon by a motor configured to traverse each filter in and out of the light path. Each variable density color filter of the first pluralities of filters may include a high saturation color pallet. Each variable density color filter of the second pluralities of filters may include a low saturation color pallet. The computer memory may include software to multiplex the traversing of the first and the second pluralities of filters to one or more control channels.

Theatrical instrument with improved subtractive color mixing system

A theater light projector including a housing, a plurality of light sources, a plurality of lenses, a light exiting output aperture, and a central integrating mask. The light exiting output aperture has a center. The plurality of light sources are arranged around a central axis. The plurality of light sources project light though the light exiting output aperture. The center of the light exiting output aperture is substantially void of projected light projected by the plurality of light sources. The central integrating mask is located in the center of the light exiting aperture and partially intersects a portion of the projected light from each of the plurality of light sources.

An apparatus including a theater lighting device including a lamp housing; a base housing; and an internal spectral sensor. The lamp housing is rotationally mounted to the base housing; and includes a plurality of light sources, and lenses which cooperate to project a final output light; wherein residual light is received by the internal spectral sensor from internal reflections of a first lens of the plurality of lenses and the residual light is converted to spectral data. The spectral sensor is a multispectral filter array type. The theater lighting device further includes a microprocessor; and a memory, wherein the memory stores a first set of data for a plurality of electronically adjustable parameters of the theater lighting device. The microprocessor is programmed to receive a first command and in response put the theater lighting device in a first state.

Methods and improvements to spectral monitoring of theatre lighting devices

An apparatus including a theater lighting device including a lamp housing; a base housing; and an internal spectral sensor. The lamp housing is rotationally mounted to the base housing; and includes a plurality of light sources, and lenses which cooperate to project a final output light; and wherein residual light is received by the internal spectral sensor from internal reflections of a first lens of the plurality of lenses and the residual light is converted to spectral data. The spectral sensor is a multispectral filter array type. The theater lighting device further includes a microprocessor; and a memory, wherein the memory stores a first set of data for a plurality of electronically adjustable parameters of the theater lighting device. The microprocessor is programmed to receive a first command and in response put the theater lighting device in a first state.

A theatrical apparatus including a first light source, a second light source and a third light source, a computer memory, and a computer processor. Each of the first, second, and third light sources may have current positions; and each may be configured to be remotely operated by the computer processor executing computer operating software to have its current position changed, independent of the other light sources. Data indicating the current position of each of the first, second, and third light sources, including a position count value for each of the first, second, and third light sources, is stored in the computer memory by the computer processor executing the computer operating software. The computer processor may be programmed by the computer operating software to use the position count values prevent collisions between the light sources.

Theatre light apparatus and method incorporating a plurality of light sources with anti-collision

A plurality of framing blades; and a multiparameter theater light including a light source; and an optical component. Each of the plurality of framing blades configured to be placed in a path of the light source so that at least one surface of each of the plurality of framing blades reflects light rays from the light source. At least one surface of each of the plurality of framing blades may include a plurality of peaks and a plurality of troughs, alternating between a peak and a trough, and the distance between adjacent peaks varies; and wherein light rays incident on the at least one surface with the same angle of incidence with respect to a straight line defining a length of each of the plurality of framing blades, have a different angle of reflection with respect to the straight line, depending on where the light rays are incident on.

Framing contrast of multiparameter theatrical lighting fixtures

A theater lighting apparatus including a plurality of light emitting modules or light emitting devices contained within a lamp housing each having a remotely controllable pan and tilt axis. The theater lighting apparatus is also capable of remotely positioning the lamp housing containing the plurality of light emitting modules. The theater lighting apparatus may include a base, and the lamp housing. The plurality of light emitting devices may include a first light emitting device which is individually remotely positionable to project a first light in a first direction, a second light emitting device which is individually remotely positionable to project a second light in a second direction, and a third light emitting device which is individually remotely positionable to project a third light in a third direction. The first direction, the second direction, and the third direction may be different from each other.

Theatre light comprising of a plurality of remotely positionable light emitting modules

A central controller and a number of image projection lighting devices ('IPLD'), a type of multiparameter light, are interconnected by an enhanced performance communications path that is capable of simultaneously carrying different digital signals on various bidirectional channels, such as various content signals, including continuous video and/or audio, in digital form on respective content transfer channels, a command signal on a control channel, and a control or content signal in digital form on an auxiliary channel. In accordance with commands transmitted from the central controller over the control channel, content signals may be sent from any of the IPLDs to any other of the IPLDs, or from the central controller to any of the IPLDs, or from any of the IPLDs to the central controller. The IPLDs have respective unique device addresses, and the control channel, the auxiliary channel, and the content transfer channels also have respective unique channel addresses.

Method, apparatus, and system for image projection lighting

A light projector for operation during a show that contains theatrical haze. The light projector may include a light source, a lens, a fan, and a housing having an inner chamber. The lens may have a first side and a second side. The first side of the lens may be contained within the inner chamber of the housing. The second side the lens may be outside of the inner chamber of the housing. The fan may be configured to be operated to generate air flow inside the inner chamber of the housing. A substantial portion of the air flow may be directed to impinge upon the first side of the lens to cause de-fogging of theatrical haze condensate on the first side of the lens.
