A system includes a current transformer including: a primary coil, and a secondary coil including at least two taps; a tap selection circuit; a current measurement apparatus configured to produce an indication of an amount of current flowing in the secondary coil; a power supply electrically connected to a first one of the taps, the power supply configured to receive electrical power from the first one of the taps; and a controller coupled to the power supply and the current measurement apparatus, the controller configured to receive electrical power from the power supply and to control the tap selection circuit based on the indication of an amount of current in the secondary coil.

A system for an electrical power distribution network includes a plurality of electrical apparatuses, each electrical apparatus including a mechanical connection and at least one electrical connector; and a single-piece unitary support configured to receive and hold the plurality of electrical apparatuses, the support including: a frame including a plurality of mechanical interfaces, each of the mechanical interfaces configured to receive and hold a mechanical connection of one of the plurality of electrical apparatus; a cover extending from a side of the frame; and a panel integrated with the frame, the panel including a plurality of electrical interfaces, each of the plurality of electrical interfaces configured to couple to an electrical connector of one of the electrical apparatuses, the cover positioned over the panel.

Mountable electrical system

A voltage sensing circuit includes an amplifier having a first input and an amplifier output, the first input being coupled to a node comprising a virtual ground, and a first impedance element having an input structured to be coupled to the conductor and an output coupled to the first input of the amplifier through the node. The first impedance element is structured to cause a current signal having a current directly proportional to the voltage on the conductor and a substantially zero volt voltage to be provided to the first input of the amplifier through the node responsive to the voltage of the conductor being provided to the input of the first impedance element. The amplifier is structured to cause an output voltage that is directly proportional to the current of the current signal to be provided at the amplifier output.

Virtual ground sensing circuit for high impedance voltage sensors

An adaptive method and apparatus for detecting fault conditions in a power distribution system that services both single phase loads and three phase loads. The present invention accomplishes this by providing an adaptive ground fault detection method and an adaptive phase fault detection method. Both methods provide the capability to distinguish gradual changes in phase current, due to ordinary current fluctuations, from more substantial changes in phase current due to various fault conditions. By making this distinction, the present invention minimizes unnecessary service interruptions.
