An indoor air quality system is configured to improve indoor air quality conditions within a local environment of a building. The indoor air quality system operates according to a method that includes obtaining indoor air levels and operating one or more appliances to adjust the indoor air levels. The system includes one or more monitoring devices.

System for adjusting humidity levels within an environment

A mounting bracket mountable to the underside of the cabinet prior to the range hood and configured to engage and support the range hood as the range hood is secured to the cabinet. The mounting bracket having a support feature engagable to the range hood to hold the range hood proximate the cabinet while fasteners are sunk to secure the range hood to the cabinet. The mounting brackets are pre-positioned on the cabinet such that range hood is aligned with the cabinet when the range hood is supported by the support feature. The smaller mounting brackets can be more easily mounted in the proper position on the cabinet then the larger rangehood speeding the installation process and reducing errors.

Range hood installation system

A system and method for obtaining environmental data—namely air quality information—from various devices contained within a structure is disclosed herein. The various devices contain sensors that can obtain environmental data, which is then analyzed by the system to determine if any level of a component within the data is outside of a predefined threshold range. If the system determines that the level of the component is outside of the predefined threshold range for that given component, the system will carry out certain steps in order to bring the level within the predetermined threshold range. These steps include selecting the appropriate appliance and the proper operating conditions to most efficiently bring the level back within the predetermined threshold range. Once the system has determined that the level is back within the predetermined threshold range, the system will instruct the selected appliance to turn OFF.

System and method for controlling indoor air quality

A ventilation assembly having a moveable trim moveable between an open position in which the moveable trim defines a gap with a ceiling trim to allow movement of fluid and a closed position in which the moveable trim is against or adjacent to the ceiling trim to eliminate or reduce the gap and prevent or limit fluid flow.

According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a ventilation system includes at least one user directed component and a plurality of sensors configured to detect a plurality of control gestures within a gesture field designated for presentation of control gestures by a user. The ventilation system may further be configured such that a control gesture of the plurality of control gestures is presented within the gesture field for detection of said control gesture by the plurality of sensors, and the plurality of sensors recognizes the control gesture as corresponding to an operation of the at least one user directed component. The ventilation system may still further include a controller for polling the plurality of sensors and converting a recognized control gesture to a command signal for operating the at least one user directed component.

Range hood ventilation system and control therefor

A range hood for a microwave includes a range-hood mount and a pair of hood slides coupled to the range-hood mount. Each hood slide includes portions that are configured to move relative to the range-hood mount between a retracted position and an extended position. The range hood further includes an expandable hood extension coupled to the pair of slides and configured to move from a collapsed configuration, when the pair of slides are arranged in the retracted position, to an expanded configuration, when the pair of slides are in the extended position.

A flush-mounted, in-ceiling exhaust fan grille for attachment to an exhaust fan housing includes a planar integration flange forming a perimeter of the grille. The integration flange includes a plurality of through holes along the perimeter. An insert may be configured for insertion within the perimeter of the integration flange. A light module may be configured to join within a central portion of the insert while maintaining an opening between an entirety of the light module and the insert. At least one spring may be attached to the insert on a first end and attached to the fan housing on a second end, wherein the at least one spring applies a force drawing the insert towards the fan housing. An exhaust fan may be provided to draw air into the fan housing through the opening between the light module and the insert to be exhausted for proper ventilation.

A venting system in accordance with the present disclosure includes a ventilation fan and one or more sensors coupled to the ventilation fan. The ventilation fan is positioned to vent air from an indoor environment. The sensors are positioned to monitor conditions in the indoor environment and selectively operate the ventilation fan to condition air in the indoor environment.

A combined ventilation and illumination system includes a ventilation assembly, a light fixture assembly, and a connector assembly. In an installed position, the system is installed above a ceiling of a room of building structure (e.g., a residence or workplace) to provide ventilation for the room. The system couples a light fixture to ventilation assembly below the ceiling. In the installed position, an air flow cavity is defined between the light fixture and the ceiling, where the cavity allows for air flow around the light fixture and into the ventilation assembly for eventual exhaust beyond the room in which the system is installed. The cavity includes a first critical distance that is sized according to operating parameters of a blower of the ventilation assembly to provide an adequate flow rate of intake air and to provide acceptable sound levels during operation of the system.

Combined ventilation and illumination system

A control system and method for implementing control of a multi-modal lighting system. The system includes a lighting device and a mode control method/system. The mode control method/system initiates a first mode including generation of white light as a default. Then, after the multi-modal lighting system is activated, a second modeis may be initiated and the multi-modal lighting systemremains activated.

A downdraft ventilation system includes a vertically movable chimney with two ventilation inlets and a baffle arranged within the chimney between the inlets. The combination of upper and lower ventilation inlets and internal baffle can function to increase the amount of cooking emission captured and exhausted by the downdraft system.

Downdraft ventilation systems and methods

Some embodiments of the invention provide a downdraft assembly capable of ventilating a cooktop including housing with a frame, a fluid box, and a movement assembly with a belt-lift. In some embodiments, the movement assembly can include a vertically moveable chimney. Some embodiments include a chimney with a horizontal member coupled to a first vertical region and a second vertical region and including a fluid inlet. In some embodiments, a first control panel can be coupled to the housing to activate at least one function of the downdraft assembly while remaining substantially stationary as the chimney moves. Some embodiments include a second control panel coupled chimney. Some embodiments include a visor and at least one illumination source configured and arranged to at least partially illuminate the cooktop. In some embodiments, the visor can articulate to control illumination or the flow of a cooking effluent into a fluid inlet.
