A cartridge that supplies fresh photographic processing solution or chemistry to a photoprocessing machine and recovers silver from spent processing solution. The cartridge is designed to integrate a solution supply system and a silver recovery system to facilitate the collection of silver from spent processing solution, form a less-regulated spent solution and reduce chemical exposures to operators of photoprocessing systems.

An amplified color developing composition is stabilized with a cyclicaminomethanediphosphonic acid or salt thereof alone of in combination with other stabilizing compounds. This composition also comprises a color developing agent, a redox oxidizing agent (such as hydrogen peroxide), and a hydroxylamine antioxidant for the color developing agent. The amplified color developing composition can be formulated using a two- or three-part processing kit. The composition can be used to provide images in various color photographic silver halide materials such as color photographic papers.

A delivery system and method for delivering a processing solution to a processing tank in a processor containing a processing solution. The delivery system is designed to provide a replenishment solution to the processing tank from a package having at least two separate containers. Each of the containers having a processing solution that is to be provided to the at least one processing tank. The delivery system substantially empties each of the at least two separate containers in the package in an accurate predetermined rate so that all of the at least two containers in the package will be substantially empty at the same time. The delivery system includes a mechanism for filling and emptying the predetermined amount of replenishment solution from the retaining vessel in response to the liquid level sensing system.

Color photographic films are processed using a final dye image stabilizing solution containing certain aromatic or heterocyclic aldehydes, acetals or hemiacetals, and a mixture of specific surfactants. One surfactant is a nonionic polyethoxylated, nonfluorinated compound, or an anionic non-fluorinated sulfate or sulfonate, and the second surfactant is a nonionic or anionic fluorinated compound. This processing solution provides processed films, with or without a magnetic backing layer, that are free of scum or other residues, non-tacky, and resistant to abrasion and fingerprinting. The stabilizing solution can be provided in concentrated form, particularly when a glycol is included.

A method of treating photoprocessing wash water, comprising in sequence, the steps of: A) contacting the wash water with an acrylic anion exchange resin to remove silver thiosulfate complex in the water; and B) contacting the water from step A) with an oxidizing agent that converts thiosulfate ions to sulfate ions. C) recirculating continuously through the photoprocessing wash tank and steps A) and B).
